Do you have to have any direct debits or standing orders on the new account for you to qualify for the cash payout?
I don't have the 1k per month to pay into the account so going to open a everyday e-saver account with £1 in there hoping that will stop the £10 a month charge and still get the cash payout?
Assuming that would work???0 -

Having £1 in the e-saver will waive the £10 charge but it won't be enough to get the joining bonus.I don't have the 1k per month to pay into the account so going to open a everyday e-saver account with £1 in there hoping that will stop the £10 a month charge and still get the cash payout?

Cheers Archi Bald - So by the sound of it 1x £1000 payment into the account (and straight back out again) will count for the bonus0

Thanks for the tip. Def worth taking this offer up as Martin is always raving about this bank. Now that I have pocketed the £100 from the co-op, its time to switch over to FD pick up the £125 bonus - and just noticed that I can get another £25 by being "referred" on the referrers page, so all up a nice easy £150 for me!0

"has anyone received the incentive payment after completing the switch and having a £1000 a month FPI ( transfer from another acc) and not a BACS payment such as salary?
thanks"
same Q from me. Have just opened a/c on line with an old Halifax a/c (£1). Assume they go through the normal switch service with you. Putting in £1000 once from another a/c will ?? qualify for the £100 bonus (when is this paid - can't find that info).
Did have a FD a/c 15/20 ? yrs ago. Wonder if they will find that ? If so/heyho...0 -
I had an ISA about 10 years ago and I was rejected after going through the entire account opening procedure on the phone which took over 20 mins. Frustrating because about 5 years ago an ISA didn't count, it had to be a current account I think. Then they changed it to any account.I'd be interested in switching to First Direct to get the £100, but they say you can only get the incentive if you have never been a customer before.0 -

I don't know if it's still the same, but FD normally sent them to you in the post. I got 3, handed them out at work, then we all went out on the town at FD's expense
