    Oh

    My

    God!!!!

I had SUCH an awesome session at the gym after work today. The weight machines really tested some of my muscles, I actually felt muscles that I didn't know I had! It was great though!

So I did 2 sets of 10 reps on each machine. The weight is only on 15kg for the arm ones and 30kg for the leg ones, so starting off slowly, but will be building it up.

So I did the weights first, then went onto cardio.
Cardio wise, I did a 10 min warm up on the bike, 15mins on the treadmill, at an incline of 3 and speed of 4.8. Then I rowed 1600m which took about 9mins, then did 10 mins on the cross trainer.
then I repeated the weights again
    :)

    I really enjoyed it!

Just looking back over this thread and seeing my progress.

These days (I know its only been 3 and a half weeks, but every progress is to be celebrated!) I do:

-15mins on bike (warm up) at level 4
-1600m on rowing machine- about 6 mins. I was thinking today that I might start aiming for 1700m instead of 1600.
    - 25mins on treadmill, speed 5.9, incline either 5.5 or 6.0.

    Weights:
-2 sets of 12 reps. Arms are now between 25-30KG, and I am FEELING IT! (hence the appearance of biceps maybe :D). Legs are now 35-40KG, again I am really feeling it!

I want to look back in another month and see what more I can do :)

    Thanks FT :)

Went to the gym today and had a great workout. Felt great.

Then came home and watched the tennis. Just about to have a snack (apple) and go and get some bits for dinner. The kids want carbonara, so I'll just have some chicken, salad, rice and veggies.

I make a healthier version of carbonara it's basically a SW recipe.
Cook up some mushrooms, garlic and bacon in frylight.
    Cook up some spaghetti.
Whisk a couple of eggs in a jug with some pepper, salt (if wanted) and a pinch or two of nutmeg.
Once spaghetti is cooked, throw in the bacon mixture and eggs and mix together.
I usually put back on heat as I prefer it a bit dry then add some cheese. Stir everything together once cheese have melted serve.
My husband loves it one of his favourite meals. I just forgot to mention it was adapted from a slimming world recipe lol!

Thanks FT, that sounds like a lovely recipe and lower in fat/cals. I'll give it a try next week.

Jumped on the scales and saw 10st 9lbs!! But then weighed another 2 or 3 times and saw 10st 10lbs and 10st 11lbs...note to self: Only weigh ONCE!! :D

I am definitely feeling fitter though, and that's the most important thing :)

Hello...just to say I am still here! Went to a bodyattack class on Monday night, have been trying to eat well and have been off the crisps. However, we spent all of last night car shopping due to our car being written off in my recent accident. We didn't get home til 9 after being out all day and were really stressed trying to make a decision so I relented to OH's request of going to the kebab shop. Actually didn't even enjoy it as I felt I had little appetite because of stress.

Today I have piano lessons to teach after work so I wont be home til about 6pm. Depending on my energy levels and how quickly I can get my dinner down me, I may go to Bodyjam at 8. Tomorrow is looking like another car shopping evening so won't get home til late again. But am at least determined to cook something proper for dinner even if i don't get to the gym! Hopefully when we get our car situation resolved, I can focus more on gymming!

I always weigh myself two or three times just to make sure. I tend to take the lowest number :) my scales are a bit old though (not digital)

I have decided against the gym this evening. Ii have only just got back from an open evening at the local comp for my youngest son, and I still have to do dinner and get everything ready for work/school tomorrow.

    I am shattered.

Not only am I not going to the gym, I am eating pizza for dinner, chocolate for pud and drinking wine too.

    Today is a fail.

    ROTFL Not really.

I was reading something yesterday (I cant remember where) that made me think about the word 'treat' and what constitutes a 'treat'.
I have often decided to 'treat' myself to some unhealthy food and some wine, normally on a Friday evening.
but actually, when you 'treat' yourself, its meant to make you feel nice, relaxed and good. As much as I like chocolate and wine, it doesn't make me feel nice or relaxed or good about myself. On the contrary, it makes me feel the opposite.

I feel like what I am battling with at the moment (in regards to food) is simple habit and sugar addiction.

I know that some people will say "just don't eat it" but there is also an emotional link with food-for me at least. Its interesting really, and something that I will continue to ponder on for many weeks to come!

That said- I am really enjoying the exercise, much more than I ever thought I would! I am also loving the endorphins. I have worked out (pardon the pun!) that I NEED to make sure I get to the gym at the latest of 4pm. I am much more active during he day, then about 5.30pm I start getting tired and irritable. I am a morning person, and like to be in bed by 9pm ( although not asleep by then).
To make my targets more achieveable, I need to be realistic. I am never going to be able to get to the gym in the evenings, unless the boys are with their dad for the weekend and I can relax about time.

Sorry, just thinking out loud at the moment!
