If it's obvious that it's a holiday designed for children i.e. child activities like butlins then I won't bother enter.

But some are just what I shall say 'normal holidays' but call it a family holiday. Or sometimes a holiday/break is for 6+ people when I only want to go with 1 other adult if I win. So if I don't bring the extra 2 kids 4 other people I'd be saving them money surely.

I enter them and I don't have kids but I enter with the intention that if I won I'd take one of my girlfriends and their kids who might not be able to afford such an amazing holiday. I get a holiday, they get a holiday, everybody wins! Haha! :)
Previous wins: Google Chromebook, iPhone 5, £100 Figleaves voucher & an iTunes voucher.

Back to comping after a long absence. Wish me luck!

If it's a competition I'm interested in, then I read the T&Cs very carefully.

If I was lucky enough to win, and the PR firm got annoyed at me, then it's a polite mention that the T&Cs stated "x" and I am eligible according to that.

But, if they pushed, I'd drop it. I'd rather not have a holiday booking handled by someone who has taken a dislike to me!

I wouldn't enter a family holdaiy as we don't have children. i think if the competition is aimed at a family then a family should win. From the ones i've seen they are often geared towards kids or family time so wouldn't want to take that away from someone It's different if you have 3 kids for eg and the comp says 2. Family means a different number of children to some than others so iam sure they would let people add on in these circumstances

Each to their own but just my opinion

But aren't 'family'holidays a bit unfair on families anyway - they more often than not exclude school holiday periods but, given the current rules on taking children out of school during termtime, the cost of the fine would probably pay for a holiday in itself :( So the companies are portraying themselves as 'family friendly' when they are no such thing; if they can then disqualify winners on the grounds they are not a family...well, they are quids in.

This is just a vague opinion - I don't have children and don't enter family comps cos I don't want to be surrounded by children  but still think families are getting a bit of a raw deal

I enter ones that say they are family holidays even though I don't have kids. Like some other people have said, I don't enter ones that seem REALLY aimed at kids (e.g. there was one recently in a specific family-friendly resort, or there was one to Lapland to meet Santa - even though I'd love to go to Lapland!).

I totally enter for Florida etc though... Plenty of people I know go there and love it without kids! At the end of the day, I think my partner and I are still a family even if we don't have kids. Unless it was a holiday with child-specific activities, I have to say I'd be a bit annoyed if a promoter wouldn't let me take it (especially since it saves them money!).

I started entering family holidays, as my Partner has children and we'd love to take them away. But we came to the conclusion that if we ever did by chance win, Mum would turn around and say no way, not happening and we wouldn't be able to go. So i stopped. I just enter breaks and holidays for two now.

Although i still do look in at the family holidays and have a read. I find it absolute madness that the majority of family holidays state you can't take them at peak times. I mean come on, it's a family holiday for petes sake.

I never seem to find any family holidays to enter! There are lots for couples and as we don't live close to either sides of our families, we'd never get the child care to go without them.

If I do manage to spot one, it is as others have said, usually to be taken in term time only which non of us can do anymore.

I keep looking but don't hold out much hope!

I have been lucky enough to win a family holiday last year but this year the ones I have seen have all stated 'children under 12'......my kids are 11 and 13 and I worry that if we won a family holiday I wouldn't be able to take them - but that also means I need to win a family holiday for 4 adults - even though my children are definitely still kids!
Back to comping after a couple of years overseas
    Good Luck Everyone
