When I buy the cream from Makro or Costco it actually works out significantly cheaper, plus I have buttermilk as a side product. When I was buying butter it cost me 90p per half pound. I can't remember what the home made butter worked out at, I calculated it the first time and then didn't bother again.
I have a butter churn (jar style) which works better with more cream, I hadn't even thought of using Costco cream.
Oh, single or double or whipping?
