OS thread Tue 10th July 2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tue 10th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning Could not sleep anymore. I think I have a summer cold coming on and I was all stuffed up.
Raining again,,, and windy. I even saw smoke from peoples chimneys yesterday. Some summer. My poor bees won't be making much honey this year by the looks of it...
Work later, last day of shift and then 3 days off, so a few jobs to do and hopefully a nice bit of weather to sort the garden out. Can't see the veggies for the weeds at the moment.
Anyway... hope you all have a nice day

Morning all:j
had a horrible sleep last night, after an hours sleep dh woke me saying there was a big spider in the bed, not good for me as i am terrified of spiders and it brings on my panic attacks pretty bad! cant even put washing on the line outside for fear of bringing the things inside:eek:
Dh didnt help matters by saying it might be in my hair hiding! checked it wasnt:mad: so off i went to lo's bed for the night, hardly any sleep!!!!
Plans today is to clean house and dh and kids are doing the garden.
Hugs

Good Morning N9eav,AMIE399, KYLE and everyone else to follow. Woke up at 4.00am convinced it was Saturday! Realisation dawned fairly quickly - and that was it, wide awake again.
Today, hopefully, is our Sports Day. Not my favourite occasion, but parents expect it and some of the children do enjoy it! We do a mixture of athletic events where the children gain points for their team going round a circuit, followed by competetive races - best of both worlds, or a horrible compromise? Seems to work out! Just hope last evening's heavy rain won't mean we have to cancel - at this stage in the term we just want it out of the way! Everyone is really, really tired and ready to snap.
N9eav - hope the cold comes to nothing, really miserable this time of year.
Amie399 - my sympathy with the ironing - just appears from nowhere, doesn't it?
Kyle, my big burly rugby-playing brother is terrified of any sized spider, so he at least would more than sympathise!
Enjoy the day!Resolution:

:hello: Gooooood Morning, fellow OS'ers
Sun shining here for the moment. It did rain through the night, but I didn't hear a thing, slept like a log.
Kyle, I'm a bit iffy around spiders too, they make my toes curl. Yuk!
Just when I thought I'd cleared the washing pile, d11yo went and split a whole glass of milk over the table and carpet (I wasn't best pleased). So, now I need to wash the quilt which adorned the table.
I'm out most of the day, got a class at the gym this morning then I need to go and do a monster shop. Completely ran down the reserves, so a stock up is needed, but at least I have a double points coupon for the Mr T purchases. Need to get a new kettle too (they don't seem to last very long these days).
Other than that, the usual 20 min whip round and put the BM on later.
Wishing you all a good day ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi all. (((hugs))) to all who need them , deserve them or just want them. Yes, rained in the night here, too, and it's cold; I've just put the heating on again! British Gas is going to have record profits this year!
MEANMARIE - Happy Anniversary!!
KYLE - spiders in the bed! AAAGH!!
(((hugs))) JackieO.
Well, hygienist at 11.25 this morning so will try and get the rest of the ironing done before I leave; did some yesterday, though, so not the hugest pile in the world now! Will have a mooch round the charity shops that are in the same village as the dentist, then lunch and then DGS will be coming round for tea.
Have just been for a wander in the garden and it looks like the blackberries are doing really well this year - obviously, all the rain has brought them on - so I'll need to stock up on jam jars, I think! I used to make wine years ago so I might have another go this year - it was very successful (and VERY alcoholic!).
Well, must go and grab a shower now I've warmed up a bit.
Have a great day, everyone, and will call in later.

Not going to say this out loud but typing it should be ok, we have a clear blue sky and a ball of fire up there, not a cloud to be seen, fingers crossed it stays like this.

Baking a weetabix cake and twinks hobnobs.Which reminds me a gave the hobnob recipie to a friend of mine who works at a different school to my kids, she made 100 of them for her school summer fair, they sold out in 15 mins she was so pleased!!
Have to be organised tommorow morning as have a lady coming from the CSA to do a survey/interview about my views of the csa system, they are interviewing 100`s of people to help them do a overhall of the child maintaince system, should be interesting she told me it could take about 45 mins!!! How long does it take to say rubbish!! LOL. I do actually have some good views too.
Have a lovely day everyone
