    Evening peeps

Ahhhh, it's lovely & peaceful here, only me in so I'm having a quiet 5 minutes catching up on here, having had what I want for tea & watching what I want on TV. Bliss! WM has just finished, bins are out for the morning & I've been to the gym straight from work.

Congrats to VickyA's OH on the new job :T, enjoy your curry.
Hugs to everyone else, and happy anniversary to meanmarie

Well, please expect to pick up a very shaky and shuddering GB! I feel the DTs coming on already!! Internet, e-mail gone and can't log on even to work files at work now until at least Friday afternoon. Finish up on Friday afternoon for two weeks so no sneaky peeks at you during the day. I always keep an eye on you there as best I can but the way corporate server set up now can't now do the thanks and my posts are all over the place with font etc!!!!!!!!!!! Now they are changing it yet again, hence the 3-day shut down, does it mean they are becoming even more Big Brother? How am I going to fill the next 3 days???

Well, have a wee sewing job tomorrow which I could take in; then maybe a day off to visit DD and family on Thursday; and then final tidy up and dust down at work on Friday before annual leave!!!!!!

Unfortunately having teeth out at dentist next week and my small denture extended (also lost another tooth at the weekend!). So probably be skulking close to home next week. Will spend lots of time following week with family as DH away.

DGS3 has put on 6 ozs in just a week so obviously not much loss of birth weight! He goes about 3 hours between feeds- seems he doesn't feed long but obviously not just grazing. Gosh, he is a week OK already! Two olders boys doing fine too and looking forward to spending time with them too on Thursday.

The usual blanket hug, and love to you all. Probably next 3 weeks a bit erratic from me but for good reason! I will catch up as and when!

    Love

    GB xxxx

POOKY - PLEASE remember to empty your hoover! I hoovered a huge spider up years ago and, when I emptied it about three weeks later, it was twice the size! Apparently, they live on the dust!

I learnt the first time I hoovered up a spider and saw it crawling back out the pipe a few hours later!!! I now make sure that I hoover up something else afterwards, normally the seeds that my parrot chucks all over the place - I know they'll spin around the drum and kill anything.

    Hi!
Went back to the docs this morning to see if the pleurisy is going in the right direction and she reckons another week and I'll (hopefully) be back to my lively self. I do feel much better and I even managed to hoover the house today.

Unfortunately DD2 was awake at 5am this morning with a sore throat and sore legs so she stayed at home today. I'm going back to work tomorrow so she'll be going to rest on my parent's sofa instead. It's party day at school tomorrow and we break up on friday, :j can't wait!
We went to look at one of the girl's church schools yesterday as DD1 is in year 5 and needs to choose next term. The one we visited last night was very impressive and she really wants to go to it.
I let her walk to and from school yesterday for the first time. Her primary school is about 5-10 mins away and there are a few small roads to cross but she was very sensible, so another small step achieved.
Hope everyone is well and hugs to those who need them.

Haven't posted for a while as I just don't seem to have much time to myself these days - not that I'm complaining. The Genesis concert was absolutely amazing and there were enough closeups of Tony Banks to satisfy my cravings. :o DD (11yo) is now a convert and wanted to wear her genesis t-shirt to school yesterday instead of her polo shirt.

I went to Genesis too, wasn't it brilliant!
Have spent last 2 days mooning around like I've had a religious experience. Good job the rest of the tour is sold out, I could get into dire debt flying round the world to see them again!

Ah well, at least I got to see the once.

Great time in the hospital : the new computer system had collapsed again and there was some problem with the results of blood tests- a porter was having to bring them down by hand. The receptionist kept very calm though!

I have to go back in two months but otherwise it looks like the lump was "just" a lump and "just" one of those things! Thank you for your support.

OM is looking very cheerful, which is just as well as MiL (= his DM) is about to come and stay with us for a few days and she enjoys making a fuss of him.

MiL likes to buy him sweets (he is diabetic) and wine (he has high BP) and she loves to tell me all his favourite foods (he has lived away from home for 30 years). I take her shopping so she can walk round the trendy modern boutiques complaining that there are 'no big sizes' and criticising the short skirts. I admire her courage - she gets away with murder! It's like the "when I am old I shall wear purple and a red hat that does not go..." poem come to life.
Unfortunately she is convinced that salt is good for him... so tries to add it to anything I am cooking.... If I do have to grind my teeth or count to 1,000,000 can I scuttle in here and do it?
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Dannahaz...I know it will be nicer, but how can it make economic sense to make butter from bought cream??
    Marie

    Hi Marie

When I buy the cream from Makro or Costco it actually works out significantly cheaper, plus I have buttermilk as a side product. When I was buying butter it cost me 90p per half pound. I can't remember what the home made butter worked out at, I calculated it the first time and then didn't bother again.

I got double cream fairly cheaply from Asda today, it worked out at 12.5p per 100ml. I don't know how much butter it will make - so I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon what the outcome was and the cost per pound.

TBH though, I don't do it because its cheaper. I do it because I find it quite a satisfying thing to do, and because it's so easy. I also like being able to control how much salt I put in, and I like to make flavoured butters at the same time (Garlic, sage, rosemary etc). And I can't deny that I like the look on my non-OS friends faces when I tell them I make my own, as they think I've gone all TomAndBarbara, they have no idea how easy it is

    Dia Dhibh!

Vicky...congratulations to your OH on his new job, hope that it goes well for him.

Grannybroon...we will miss you if you're not around for three weeks...glad to hear that DGS3 is doing well.

Patentgirl...glad to hear that you are improving.

Dannahaz...you don't know you're born getting cream for that price! I would make butter too if I could get cream so cheaply. Used to make butter when my parents had a cow umpteen years ago and agree, it is easy and it is certainly delicious.

Luxor...you will see that I am giving you a little Celtic support...your MIL sounds wonderful...sugar and salt are just what your OH would need, given his diabetes and bp!

    Sleep well everybody
