Have soaked some aduki beans overnight so will cook them in pressure cooker today and then freeze for using in mince dishes (OH can detect a lentil at 100 paces but doesn't [STRIKE]notice [/STRIKE]mind the beans :D

Realised when cooking the chilli that I am out of kidney beans so was thinking I would have to do a supermarket shop then found a pack of dried kidney beans in cupboard so they are soaking and will cook them tonight - something out of the cupboard and saved a trip to the shop :)

Oh bum, just realised we are nearly out of teabags so might have to go after all.

    Jobs for today:
    • Clean duck and chicken house
    • Pot on courgette plants
    • Sow lettuce seeds
    • Clean bathroom
    • Clean kitchen
    • Sort out cat insurance
    • Fill in motorbike V5s ready to send off
    • Get wine kit started

Oof, got a lot to do - better have another cuppa first :D

If I were you I'd prioritise the wine kit starting over the cleaning jobs....

Caught up now! I love the idea of keeping chickens, esp since I have two little girls who would adore it. Maybe it's something to consider in a year or two once we've got the rest of the house sorted.

We're still living out of boxes atm and have a huuuuuge to-do list!

Aduki beans cooked and in freezer, kidney beans in the pressure cooker, curried cauliflower in slow cooker.

Feel like I am getting somewhere :)

Hi Lannie, thanks for stopping by :) I hear you about the boxes and the To Do list!

Anoncol, you are probably right :D

Grr, still waiting on quotes from both roofers who were here over 2 weeks ago. I give up, it's impossible to get anything done! I called 3 builders on Thursday last week and none of them have called back

So have emailed 4 more roofers this evening and have one coming round on Thursday morning when I am working from home. Fingers crossed one of these a. wants the work, b. can type up a quote and c. isn't a complete rip off merchant :rotfl:

Orders for 3 boxes of hens eggs and 1 box of duck eggs tomorrow = £5.50 coming in :T
