Thanks Goldie, after nearly 4 months of working all week and being knackered at weekends it feels like things are settling down and we are starting to organise and plan
OH changed the lights in the living room from the 70s fake gas lights  to nice discrete cream uplighters with LED bulbs. They can be painted so when we decorate they will match the room.
I've got very exciting news - we're getting chickens :T:T:T
We're getting ex-battery hens, collecting them on Saturday afternoon. We're getting 4 for us and The Olds want 2 as well so that's 6 ex-batts who will get a chance at a new life
Just need to get some chicken feeders and drinker, mash for them and reassemble the spare house. As they will take some time to get to full strength we don't want to house them with the ducks to start off as they will get trampled. Ducks have no concept of bodies (very Jean Paul Satre "I think therefore I am - a head") and walk into / over anything in the way and the girls will need a bit of time to recover before they go in with the ducks.
Plus, we will need to get a new side of the house, or the side modified, as it doesn't have any next boxes (don't need them for ducks).
Re the cooker, we have found out that we can save about £100 by getting the propane cylinders from C0untrywide so going to speak to the heating company today to let them know that we will supply these. Also may need to rearrange the date as I think I have a company meeting on that day.
It's looking like OH might be at home next week which would be nice.1 -
Oh my goodness, more chickens on here :T.
Your courier egg buyer will be delighted I'm sure.

These ones will just lay brown eggs though so I won't know who has laid which but I can give a description of size and shape if required
Photos to follow on Saturday...1 -
One more sleep to chickens :T
Got the roofer coming round at 10.00 and need to tidy up... as soon as I've finished this cup of tea.
Might go out for lunch today as it's the last day of our holiday.
It's been good exploring the area and finding out where things are. There's no Aldi or Lidl near here but have found a couple in towns 10 - 15 miles away so if I can make it worthwhile going to that town one, I can visit at the same time.
Bought OH a new electric drill yesterday from Screwfix - not cheap but tracked at £3.53 cashback
Need to log onto banking and offset £23.99

Hi Lucky, we've had two roofers and two different opinions
One said the roof didn't need replacing but that it could be cleaned of moss, treated, the mortar and flashing replacing and all the wood cladding replacing
The other said the whole roof needs replacing and there's no point doing anything in the meantime
So time for a third opinion  We've got a friend of a friend who's a roofer - it's too far for him to do the work but he's happy for us to send some photos and to give his opinion so we'll do that tomorrow and see what he thinks.1 -
Ah i see hate that if cleaning the moss and cladding is more than half of what a new roof would cost id just get it done anyway. but laying out now is always a hard decision whats up do you have a leak or somthing ?Mortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

It rains inside! Lots of leaks, the flashing is failing, some of it is only flash band which should be temporary but has been up for years and the wood on the front of the dormer windows is rotting and warped so letting in water. Will see what the quotes come in at and decide which is the bes option.1

So, do we have names yet? Poor little souls
