Hi FF, we've got lots of different kinds: khaki and white campbells, indian runners, cherry valleys, saxoneys, cayugas and some heinz 57s
They're lovely but they are wrecking the back garden :cool:1 -
Sounds great, katep. We don't have any land where we're renting but there are two large ponds nearby complete with a range of ducks. Productive day, bought seed potatoes to plant tomorrow. Also bought some bedding plants to do hanging baskets, also tomorrow
Got the garage and workshop a lot more organised and realised just how much space we have
We've been given some laminate flooring (about 8m2) which we have worked out will just do the conservatory* so the plan is to fit that this week, possibly when dad is up to help.
Now sat on the patio, under the fall-y down carport with a cider and the chiminea going - no work tomorrow :T Suppose we ought to eat soon too
* For the purposes of this diary, whenever I use the term "conservatory", please insert the air quotes / sarcastic fingers to achieve the tone intended
Estate agent speak for "lean to with UPVC door and windows, intended as a large porch / entrance hallway but we like to use artistic licence to imply there is another room which you could use as a conservatory as long as neither of you wanted to pass the other at any given point and any furniture would have to fold out from the wall a la football stadium seats".1 -
Have you thought of changing careers and becoming one of those straight talking estate agents :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Oooh, good idea, I could change the system from the inside
Introduce common sense phrases such as "the bathroom would be fine, as long as you never want to have a bath" and "this house has a walk in larder - no wait, that's actually the kitchen" - it'll be a roaring success
On the other hand, after we bought this house OH swore he never wanted to deal with another estate agent as long as he lives so it might make things a bit strained at home...1 -
Bit of a spendy day yesterday; bought a freestanding rotary airer so if it is raining I can dry clothes under the car port and a really nice (I haven't seen it yet as OH picked it up) double futon bed with storage underneath for the spare room for £40.
Had a productive day though, getting spare keys cut, got a rat trap for the garage (blinking thing is chewing everything in sight), organised two roofers to come out later this week to give us an idea of what we can do now and how much it will cost to completely re-roof so we can save up and have booked the people to come and convert / install the cooker. Two weeks today, I'll have a working range cooker :T
Also booked 3 cats for boosters on Friday (that will be about £140 - ouch!)
And have done hanging baskets for the front of the house and the garage, they look really nice
OH is off to visit his friend in Zummerzet today (back tomorrow) so should have a nice quiet day pottering around and tidying up the bombshell which is the kitchen.
No eggs sold here, have run out of egg boxes  Bit concerned in case crazy courier man turns up today so have put a wanted out on freegle.1 -
Sounds like you are getting lots of things done at the moment.
It's nice to get stuff done with and out of the way:jEarly retired - 18th December 2014
