The tories will be lucky to win the general election at all let alone get a majority.

If you truly think they will win with a majority then get down the bookies with your life savings. You will get incredible odds on that happening.

And you'll be sorted for blue rocks forever :D

Seen saul in fargo? it's been weird but wonderful

Some common ground at last. Yeah I've really enjoyed Fargo.
  • It's not just tough times, even though that's a big factor...

People are fed up with the scandals, lies, exploitation, misrepresentation, votes making no difference, soundbites, career politicians. limp impotent politicians in the face of the EU....

It is not about racism, it's not a minor protest. Something must change.... People want change.

Watch the conservatives and labour try to rapidly evolve.... it will appear like squirming to me
    Peace.

No more no less than some of the other categories but in London the estimates seem to say 36% of registered voters are 'foreigners'.

If true, then one would expect it to have a significant effect on Londoners' view on the EU and some other policies.

Maybe London should become a separate City-State and then we would be 100% foreign. The new city-State could then be fully part of the EU and the rest of the country could live in the 1950s as they seem to desire. As a separate state we would have a GDP on par with Switzerland and Sweden. Separation would allow us to better run the London Economy. Right now London needs higher interest rates, our deprived areas need money diverted elsewhere in the UK.
Yes, if the rest of the UK want to go back to the 50s maybe it's time for a divorce?

    makes no sense

the London superstate would be destroyed by EU transaction taxes in about 12 months flat.

In the 50's the majority of the population were born there. ;)

My late Aunt had a council flat just off High Holborn. Was rehoused there after her original property was destroyed in the blitz.

My parents moved out in the 50's for a better quality of life.

    Seems they were right.

    and London doesn't really need higher interest rates as wage rates aren't out of control;
it simply needs to build more properties for people to live in (which is partly happening but demand is rising faster than supply (subject to seeing the lastest figures)).

the tories know they will not get a majority
the public know the tories will not get a majority

That's why they promised a referendum WITH a majority because they know and everyone else knows that will never happen.

It's like me promising to give you a million pounds if bats fly out my a$s singing the sound of music in a camp louis spence style while wearing matching top hats and tails.

    It's never going to happen.
(but if there was ever a chance of it happening I'd be straight on Britains got talent!)

You been sampling some of those new blue rocks Saul? ;)

    Meanwhile, back on Planet Earth...

Betfair has the Tories at less than 3-1 to form a majority next General Election (3.95 using digital odds). That's hardly beyond the relm of possibility.

Clearly the Tories can't promise to hold a referendum if in a coalition (a post-election coalition is favourite at 5-4 (2.25)) as they don't know what their coalition partners would agree to.

Very technical term that - "digital odds", makes you sound very authoritative.

I think you mean Decimal Odds.

It's a bit early to be using that market as a true indication of the likelihood of each event happening, although interestingly the shortest price supports no overall majority which could be interesting if the Tory's decide to form a pact with UKIP (and the cons are under pressure to do so).
