Here here. Mrshall probably considers law-abiding citizens a rarity if her family are anything to go by.

Not my whole family only my sister who was kicked out by my parents when they found out what she was doing. She gives up whenever she splits from her bloke but they always get back together and always seem to end up back on it.

Reading back over my posts i got a bit too in the moment.

I dont condemn crime, i do however believe that people get too wrapped up in what media portray as a typical druggie.

I left my ex due to his temper when he didnt have pot, but just because he was a (insert whatever) doesnt mean all pot heads are.

There are people in highly paid professional jobs who smoke it in the evenings. And i do believe that if they are able to hold down their job and be 'normal' then leave them to it. However if they need to steal and other things to fund it then they need help! As do alcoholics who steal to fund their habit.

If its effecting you fair enough. Personally i wouldnt report dealing.

Well I for one am glad that there are a lot more people here who would report dealing than who agree with you mrshall.

Just because someone is in a professional job doesn't mean their drug use isn't having a negative impact on them or those around them. The devastating impact of drug use on families is not always visible from outside. I expect there are a lot of stories like mine of children of professional parents who were neglected or suffered abuse while their parents were too high to notice/care/do anything about it.

Shame on you and your selfish narrow view of the world. I wonder how many children will suffer while you sit in silence.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

So it won't worry you when one of your children is given drugs by a dealer, gets hooked, and then starts needing extra cash to feed his habit?

Do you not realise that there is a proven link between psychotic episodes in teenagers and early pot smoking? Here is a link: http://news.yahoo.com/daily-pot-tied-age-first-psychotic-episode-155332322.html

Maybe reading that might make you reconsider your attitude, which is most definitely is not an attitude shared by people who do not live in drug-addled areas.

its on the yahoo news website so it must be true?!

ive researched it ALOT and believe me there are many articles that disprove that little 'fact' aswell as how cannaboids help fight against cancer, help depression and anxiety.

    1. Cancer
Cannabinoids, the active components of marijuana, inhibit tumor growth in laboratory animals and also kill cancer cells. Western governments have known this for a long time yet they continued to suppress the information so that cannabis prohibition and the profits generated by the drug industry proliferated.

you can find articles to back up any claim. doesnt mean it must be right, its an individual decision which you believe the pros or cons.

if my children get offered drugs i would hope they would feel able to be open with me so i know whats going on and can keep an eye, unlike those children whos parents disprove so much they do it behind their backs and get messed up in other stuff!

my sisters OH also has done these legal highs and ended up in hospital because of it twice, his mum thinks he had his drink spiked because she would hit the roof if she found out..

its much more dangerous when its done in secret, behind peoples backs as thats when it spirals out of control

and also i plan to teach my kids that i grew up knowing people who do it, hanging around and being friends with people who do it but i haven't even ever tried it.

if they wish to be weak minded and only follow their friends then that is their choice but there is much more to be said for having your own mind and making your own decisions no matter what anyone else tells you! your friends may be stupid enough to do it but it doesn't mean you have to be!

Just because something have beneficial impact doesn't mean it cannot harm. This is why pharmaceutical drugs are regulated and the side effects researched , listed, monitored.

Even food, or nutrients, or vitamins and minerals in excess or wrong proportions can be harmful.

I am on a couple of prescribed drugs that have a risk of mental illness/depression as a side effect. The difference is that the content is strongly monitored, I am aware of the risks, as are my medical team and the very rare side effects can be collated too. Sometimes this means drugs that were licences for use are withdrawn.

I lost a friend to cannabis use when I was rather young, it was incredibly dramatic. I have others who have suffered greatly, with mental health and things they cat not put their finger on but my guess is in some way relate to their habit and others who cope just fine with no problems at all. Pretty like the pool of people I know who use most drugs ( including medicinal) or alcohol.

The thing that makes cannabis SO dangerous IMO compared to other illegal drugs/medicinal drugs or alcohol is people who deny there be any dangers associated with it, unlike the other classes of things.

People who spout the sort of stuff you are.

I knew too people from university who had major dope habits, nothing else, just smoked a lot of weed, and they both ended up being sectioned. They were in the minority for that (lots of others also smoked it but didn't have issues) however for that reason alone I'd be wanting it away from my kids.

OP - use a phone box. It doesn't get more anonymous than that.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
  • Seems this thread has gone a little off topic as to how it started.

I can understand where some people are coming from in term of each to there own sort of thing but when there issues start to involve the place where i live then it does become my issue to.

i have lived in places i know the effect a street level dealer can have, generally being the more dangerous needing to get there hand dirty. this person record show that already.

I have a similar problem. I live in a semi and the next door neighbor is definatley dealing canabis!! People coming and going all day and night, knocking and leaving a few minutes later.

She smokes it all day and the smell comes into my house! I am convinced she is also growing it. Every few weeks our house reeks way more than usual.

We only bought the house in October so can not just move, she rents hers house privately but I have no idea who off. The rest of the street is lovely, she just brings it down.

I have a baby on the way and can not stand the idea of my house smelling of canabis when we do not even smoke. What would the midwife think when she does a home visit?!
She also has two young children, I am surprised their school has not smelt it on their clothes.

I really want to report it but I am worried she would know it was us and cause problems.

most users couldnt deal because they would never make their money back, my sister bought a bit to deal, smoked it herself and realised actually if your going to deal you cant smoke your profits...

Your sister obviously didn't buy much then.

You can't judge all dealers by your sister. Most dealers start dealing to either fund their own habit, or to pay off their own debts to their own dealer.
