the police dont do their job anyways they want everyone else to do it for them. and yes ill ignore blatant law breaking because most of the people breaking the laws are people who are supposed to be enforcing them
Attitudes such as the one you profess does not make bad thing better. Makes ignoring law-breaking the norm - and that's why the country is going down the pan! Thank you for helping us to make the world a better place for our children and our children's children. Remember - if you aren't prepared to be part of the solution, you are part of the problem.0 -

well it wont be law breaking for long when cannabis becomes legal. which it will be pretty soon. its a plant which grows in the damned ground!
cannabis seeds are in some bird feed! my OH was doing an old ladys garden & came across a cannabis plant, she had lived there most of her life (shes in her 80s) and had no idea it was there untill he pointed it out. it came from birdseed.0 -
ill probably get stick for this but seriously?
if your talking about cannabis, your worried about your kids being around it? most dealers don't smoke it themselves as they'd be smoking their profits. now a days most people know someone who smokes it, when kids go to secondary school they WILL know someone who smokes it.
in my eyes what has it got to do with you? why does it matter what your neighbours are doing? you arnt smoking it, you arnt dealing it, so why does it matter? it can be used to show your children that you shouldnt do things like that.
i dont smoke it and never have, but then i dont drink either and i expect you will allow your children to see people drinking which causes a lot more heartache, deaths, long term illness than a bit of pot..
if you expect its something more sinister then maybe you have a place to complain but i would still say what has it got to do with you?
have you always 100% stayed within the law, never done anything a little bit off, taken a risk, gotten into trouble? i doubt many people can say theyve always been completely straight.
yes i have children, and yes i know people who smoke it, and no none of them are the crazed, mad zombies media make them out to be, they are holding down jobs (one is a doctor and another a teacher) and raising children. you wouldnt know it to look at them. and id much sooner leave my children in the care of one of them than anyone who would consider a glass of wine around the child.
just my personal opinion
Nowhere has the OP said they think it's cannabis so if dealing is taking place it could be any kind of drug. I also agree with Aileth - many cannabis dealers are also addicts - it's only the ones at the 'top of the pyramid' that don't indulge - the street dealers are addicts who deal to earn their fix (and I too speak from a legal background). What's your take on heroin, cocaine, meth etc? Are they as harmless too?
It would appear that a person's right to privacy is more important to you than the wider social question. That's fine but would you really want your street (and surrounding area) to fill up with drug dealers & their clients and the knock on effect that would cause ie. car crime, burglary, robbery etc in order to afford their next fix from the dealer living next door to you? From a practical point of view - do you own your own home & would you want to see it's value plummet because you now live in a 'dodgy' area?
You appear to hate & fear alcohol more than drugs, perhaps because it has harmed you or your loved ones, and I know how you feel as I have lived with a relative blighted by the addiction. However, alcohol addiction rarely impacts on the wider community as alcohol isn't illegal to sell & therefore doesn't spawn dealers. There are other poisons out there just as bad as alcohol, don't become blind to that fact.0 -

Of course cannabis is a plant which grows in the ground - so is opium - you'll legitimise heroin, I take it? Just because it grows in the ground, as you so eloquently put it, doesn't mean it doesn't cause harm!
i'm condemning your attitude towards law-breaking in general - not pot-smoking!0 -

In that case you would know that most dealers are also users.0 -

ive lived with dealers, my sister smokes it, ive house shared with dealers and druggies, some of my closest friends smoke pot. there are at least 6 houses in my immediate 'street' who smoke it, out of them atleast 1 deals, they are only the ones i 'know' there maybe others im not aware of. i rent my home. within my city there are atleast 6 dealers that i know and hundreds who smoke it. maybe because im only 23 and still in contact with people from school im more immerged within it than other people.
we never lock our doors, we leave our bikes in our car port, noone around here has had any issues.
but i dont believe cannabis is an issue and believe there is much worse going on in the country.
i was bought up in a family where alcohol was frowned upon an never saw my parents drink untill i was 13 or older possibly.
people who drink terrify me i wont lie, if i walk past someone who smells of alcohol i have a panic attack, if my OH drinks i have a panic attack, i have no reason to i just dont like it. although its got worse recently, when i was younger (18-20) i would go out clubbing and it didnt bother me. it only bothers me if im alone with someone whos been drinking. if im with others im not so worried.0 -

most users couldnt deal because they would never make their money back, my sister bought a bit to deal, smoked it herself and realised actually if your going to deal you cant smoke your profits...0
