Hello, not quite sure this is the right place to post but im hoping for some advice on a matter.
I believe that one of my neighbors is dealing drugs i'm 90% sure this is what going on but also to add i am not sure if the dealer in fact lives there or is just saying a few nights a week with the lady of the house.
Im not quite sure how to go about reporting it, but at the same time will any action be taken on the matter.
would it be worth reporting to the council even if its a private rented flat?
I don't want to see this stuff going on around my children.
please advise

I would have thought it would be the Police you would report it to - though I'd want to be reasonably sure of my suspicions. What makes you think he is a drug dealer?
I'm not sure what you expect the Council to do if it is a privately rented flat?0 -
Hi
This would be a police matter rather than local authority.

ok, i mentioned council as i saw someone mention that some where else as well.
Well you sort of know when some things don't add up, other people have mentioned it as well.0 -
Call 101 and speak to your local policing team about it

Don't expect the police to take immediate action or any obvious action0

ok, has anyone on here ever done this before? you mention not immediate action how what sort of time could you expect them to react.
i'm going to assume its nothing as fancy as a house raid any idea what they do?0 -
I have called the local police when I've suspected that dealing is going on: on one occasion the car number that I gave was recognised, and I was told that they "recognised" that registration and thanked for the information. Didn't see the car again in the locality.
On another occasion I was thanked, and that the matter would be looked into - didn't hear anything else, but the problem seemed to go away.0 -
They won't come back to you and let you know what they've done or are planning to do.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

As mentioned above - ring your local Community Policing Team on 101 & give them all the details. Before ringing, make a note of times, dates, descriptions of persons & vehicles at the house & anything that occurs that makes you believe suspicious activity is occurring there. The Police will then search the details on their intelligence records to see if they already have info about the house, vehicles etc. Your info will be added to their records, whether they already know about the premises or not, and once they have enough info & they believe criminal activity is being carried out they will take appropriate action. They won't tell you what they are doing & won't reveal to others where the info came from so don't worry about your identity being revealed.
It may seem at times that there is no point passing on suspicious activity to the Police but if no one passes it on the Police won't have a complete picture. They rely on the public's eyes & ears more than you think.0
