How it affects me - on a couple of occasions my visitors had to look for parking or I had to knock his door and ask whether I can get my drive back. Once his visitor parked in front of my d I did not have space myself. As they went out I could not get visitor to move the car.
I left a note on her car. As I
alalready said , he does not do it to anybody else's drives nor anybody else does it to others
My visitors sometimes have to park in the next street, you do not have a divine right to save a space for visitors who may occasionally call round.
Once his visitor parked in front of my drive - which is wrong as his visitor should not assume that you do not use your drive, but I can bet your neighbour said, "oh your ok parking there, the lady never uses her drive"
Did your relative, actually park in your drive when you asked for your drive back?
does everyone in your street/grove/close, not use their drives?
You should live round here, we live in a cul de sac, where cars can not drive up, so everyone has to park at the side and walk, were all ok, and we all usually park our cars in the same places and it works well, unless someone gets a visitor, then it can go a bit hit n miss, but nobody complains or falls out............life is too short.
I look forward to seeing you on one of those programs 'neighbours from hell' and your neighbour, stood there, saying, I park my car over her drive by a meter or two as it's very steep and the young lady never uses it, I didn't see a problem,...............thousands would be sat at home shaking their heads.
Again good luck, your so going to need it, when you open this can of worms.
How about trying to learn to drive and use your drive.0 -
Does he have his own drive? If so, park 1-2m over it and when he knocks, just say, "Oh, I thought that's what we did these days?"."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

That's a bit 'passive - aggressive' and is likely to up the ante.
Far better to broach the subject in conversation in a calm manner and just have a discussion.:hello:0 -

Just be an adult and have a friendly chat with him... you can use all your examples to show him how inconsiderate he's been.
I have not explain it well then . I do not use drive. I want section of the road with dropped curb to be free either for my own car if everywhere else is busy or for visitors or just plain because one is not supposed to park in front if dropped curb. This thread makes confusing reading - on one hand I am being chastised for parking in front of someone's drive for 10 minute and advised you would written me a note youeself , on another hand I am being chastised to reacting to someone else doing it to me on consistent basis for far longer periods. I have a feeling that my gobbledygook first post sent signals "incoherent person , most likely wrong , peck it."
I even got a suggestion of learning to drive on here - surely more than I bargained for. Ps. Many neighbours don't park on.their drives on that road as drives often are either too steep or narrow. The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.0 -
Out of interest is English not your first language?0

You don't own the road & I think you are being really petty towards a good neighbour.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
""This thread makes confusing reading""
The thread does, probably just continuing in the way it was started.
So your now saying that by your neighbour parking a meter over your drive it stops the occasional visitor to you from parking there?0 -

Errm so it is fine parking in front of dropped curb entrance t drives then ?The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.

It's rude, but you aren't breaking any laws."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

I done it once in 3 years for 10 minutes
He done it repeatedly overnight
You genuinely don't see the difference ?
The difference is one is a stranger, the other is a neighbour who has helped you in the past. Can't you see that he has just assumed it doesn't bother you since you've said nothing about it? If I didn't park on my drive, I really didn't mind if my kind neighbour did, so it's easy to assume others feel the same unless they say so. Maybe one day you mentioned to him about not wanting to park on your drive and he just assumed that therefore his actions wouldn't bother you.
Just say something to him next time if it bothers you so much. Bring on the conversation around parking, and just very kindly that if he doesn't mind, you would prefer if he didn't park in front of you drive, unless there is no other space to park.0
