Do you stretch after your workouts, Bunnie? Helps prevent DOMS :)

I always do a warm up and a cool down. I think my body is just in shock from actually doing some exercise! :rotfl:

Tbh if Im going to the gym, I dont tend to spend much time on a warm up, if you are up and about first thing in the morning or moving around before you go and workout you wont be working out cold as it were.

I tend to stretch more after classes. Id ask one of the gym staff to write down on your gym programme when you get one, what to do to warm up and cool down properly.

It might change from time to time, because you'll be using different muscle groups depending on what you do each time you were in

DOMS aren't pleasant, but they are a good sign.

After training, saturday to thursday I have had a long weekend off apart from walking. Doms are relieved by nutrition as well as stretching and cool down.

I've been doing boot camp for 2yrs, and still my fav session cripples me for a couple of days after, it involves tons of squats. Am pretty sure the qty we do now has upped from what we used to do when we started. Unfortunate just don't have the motivation for a gym, and am sure I wouldn't push myself as hard if left to my eon devices.

That's how I feel. I need somebody shouting at me to work harder! I think I'm going to try some of the free classes to keep me motivated. Although I acutally got up and went to the gym at 6:30am on Saturday!

The problem with the Insanity programme is that it's totally over the top. It's far too much and you just can't maintain that sort of activity for any decent period of time.

You might as well tell people to run a marathon every day. You will get fit if you do it, but most people won't be able to maintain it.

I agree with you that Insanity isn't something you can maintain long term, but as a short term activity I don't think it's over the top at all.
Programmes like Insanity are brilliant for habit forming, I know I probably won't be able to work out for an hour every day for the rest of my life, but I by the end of the 63 days I will be in to a routine of exercise and will be less likely to go back to being a couch potato.

I've just started on the second month of the dvd's and am a certified Insanophile! Just the thought of finishing something so tough motivates me to work harder. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a challenge :D

    ...but I never go!

How do I motivate myself to get my bum down there?

I don't go to the gym anymore due to the cost (I now run and play squash!) but when I was a member, I had to go straight from work without thinking about it too much. The second I thought about my workout, I'd find some kind of excuse and end up not going.

Once you get in to it, you feel terrible not going! :p

just reminded me I need to start jogging again!! But I would say joining a local sports club is usually cheap monthly subs and a great way to meet new people and keep fit (I play hockey) rather than paying out for fitness vids / equipment. I remember somewhere hearing that the most recycled equipment was old gym/sports stuff though so if you are dedicated can probably pick that up cheap somewhere!
