Hahaha! I wish!
Who actually looks good working out? I'm a sweaty mess within a few mins! An old housemate of mine used to put make up on just to go to the gym!
I look good when I get there, because I've usually gone straight from work with my everlasting make-up on. I don't sweat buckets either, somehow, so I don't get too messed up. My make-up is good stuff though.
I don't tend to go out at all without SPF moisturiser and foundation, not just through vanity (although that plays a part) but because I get coldsores which flare up in cold or heat, so I confess to putting the bare minimum on even if I go to the gym early doors or weekend.
I'm doing an hour in the gym and a bootcamp tonight. I slipped off a bench last night so have some lovely bumps and bruises on my shins :-(******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
Bodyweight stuff! Push-ups, squats, lunges
Did some yesterday, in a lot of pain today!I don't sweat buckets either, somehow, so I don't get too messed up.
I envy you! I sweat like mad...not so attractive on a woman! lolI'm doing an hour in the gym and a bootcamp tonight. I slipped off a bench last night so have some lovely bumps and bruises on my shins :-(
I managed to slip over in the rain walking home from work last week. Bruised my bum/thigh nicely!
Edit: I went to the gym again last night. Did a c25k run using the treadmill, thinking it might help loosen up my leg muscles a bit...nope! Time for a day of rest today!0 -

This instructor is qualified to the hilt, and very, very good. His classes are packed out and difficult to get onto. He knows his stuff. I'm not sure where I got the 50 mins from, I might be wrong.
I did think that about the hype, to be honest, and am a bit skeptical. I think I'll give it a go, just to say I've tried it.
Some of them are 50 mins and some of them are 30 mins, I suspect that some of the gyms do 30 min classes because its all the room they have on the timetable.
I didnt think I would like it before I went and I was right, maybe I do too much other type HIIT, but it was also very showy if thats the right word. You change moves and a horn sounds to signify, the music isnt what I expected, thought it would be chart, its definitely not your 4 count stuff, you can tell its an american programme
It does what it says on the tin, you'll get hot and sweaty, but it wasnt for me.0 -
£3 for a class?! It used to cost me £7 a time to go to Zumba where I live! :rotfl:
Luckily all the classes at the gym I just signed up to a free!
Had my induction yesterday afternoon, paying for it today. I ache all over! I've had inductions previously and they show you where everything is and how everything works etc. This guy took me and another new starter and gave us a 40 min workout!
I'm finding it hard to move my legs now, but I can feel that it's given me more energy already!
I've got a free personal training session to use, so I might use him again (although I did catch him helping me, but staring at some girls bum next to us!)
Today I should probably rest, but I feel like I'll give up if I don't go...
I suspect I live much further north than you. £3 is standard around here, even in the north of england a lot of instructors charge £3.
I charge £3 for a drop in class, £5 for a double and £25 for a ten class pass, havent put up my prices in 4 years though, but very few people where I live who teach in the community charge more than £3.50
One of the formats I teach, we were told to charge £3 because they didnt want people undercutting one another, but that was fine by me as I charge that anyway.0 -
Im starting a bootcamp as a participant on Saturday morning. The guy running it is an ex professional MMA fighter, ex european champion I believe. I do some of his other classes and its going to be absolute torture.
But, during the fitness test we had to be timed doing as many burpees as we could in a minute. I managed 20.
A year ago theres no way Id have done that many. HIIT training really does sharpen up your fitness. Hes going to test us in 8 weeks time again. We've also to eat a Paleo diet for the duration. I think during the first bootcamp he ran he had 8 people booked on and between them they lost 8 and a half stones.
I just passed my level 2 gym instructor qualification and Ive just booked my level 3 PT course and Im hoping to get two bootcamps in before I start my level 3.
Stick with the exercise, the hardest step is the first one you take inside the gym, if you can carry it on, thats you halfway there.0 -
The problem with the Insanity programme is that it's totally over the top. It's far too much and you just can't maintain that sort of activity for any decent period of time.
You might as well tell people to run a marathon every day. You will get fit if you do it, but most people won't be able to maintain it.0 -

A fair bit of exageration there even on the full programme not the instructor led classes, 30 0r 50 minutes including short recovery periods and weekly scheduled rest days, equal or comparable to running a marathon every day, I think not.

I can't be certain, not having been, but I'm pretty sure it's not quite the same as running a marathon.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
I adore Insanity - I am a pretty athletic 25 year old.
12st when I started, lost 7lbs in 3weeks.
For those who are unable to keep up with it, I recommend T25 as it is nowhere near as intense.0 -
I had a rest day yesterday, so might pay another visit to the gym tonight after work. OH is going to the pub, but I don't feel like joining him tonight. My legs are aching a lot less today.
Hopefully it won't be raining, the last time I walked to the gym I got soaked0
