HAPPY SUNNY SUNDAY ALLIsn't it great to get back to the simple domestic pleasures of housework and cooking Sunday lunch without having to think about practice tests and homeworks? We had such a relaxing and fun day yesterday after the final test. :j
My son thought paper 3 was similar to paper 2. He said the maths was fine but there were some tricky words in the English which he had to guess (as did his 2 friends) however he didn't leave any questions out and finished with about 10 minutes to spare - so fingers crossed !
He and his friends had a sleepover and a celebratory bonfire of all their tests last night and would you believe it, it is still smouldering!! They are saying that just shows how hard they worked ! :T:T:T:T:T:T
It's all in the lap of the gods now :eek:0 -
My daughter said the exact same flymetothemoon, that she found this paper much the same as last weeks and said the last English passage was tough. We all thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the weekend though and can now look forward to Xmas b4 we start dreading D-day on the 31st Jan.0

Just wanted to give you an update. On Saturday I left messages on the answering machine of the school and AQE and both have been onto me. I don't want to mention the school but I have to say they have been fantastic, they are working on an investigation at the moment and working towards a solution. I would honestly not like my d to change rooms as she would feel as she is the one being punished. I do believe the teacher involved is backing up the children's stories so I would feel that is enough evidence to remove the offenders. I do not blame the teacher as it was a very unique situation and I believe she actually stopped telling the children off for fear of disrupting the other. My feeling is there should be a 3 warning rule and at that point the child should be removed from the school. AQE have said if my daughter misses her school of choice by a small margin they would highly recommend using special circumstances. All the other children from her school sitting the test in that room wish to go to that grammar school...my daughter doesn't. I feel the school itself will look favourably on special circumstances but would my daughters choice? Any way I really hope it doesn't come to that. She is sitting the GL as her top 2 choices accept both so fingers crossed
Hi mygirls
How did things go for papers 2 & 3. Hope there was no more disruption.0 -
Happy New Year
Well that's 2014 over... And now the countdown to results begins! Only 30 days until the wait is finally over.
At least January should fly by with the open days. Has everyone planned on which schools and grammars they are going to visit?:hello: Animals are my friends...and I don't eat my friends:EasterBun0 -

Happy New Year everyone. We have 4 schools to visit, 3 grammers - Dalriada, Coleraine Girls, Dominican College and the local High school. All open nights are next week so will be busy, but want to keep options open so must be done! Sort of wish we had the results first so we could just concentrate on the one or two daughter has a chance of getting a place in.0

At the minute it looks like we're going to BRA, Victoria College, all girls secondry and intergrated. We thought about belfast high but it's a far distance from us, and methody but we've heard a few things about it that put us off.
I agree about getting results before viewing schools Workingmumof2, doing it this way means that they might get their hopes up seeing schools that they won't be able to get into if they don't get the score they expect.
How are all your kids doing at the minute in the run up to results, excited or nervous?:hello: Animals are my friends...and I don't eat my friends:EasterBun0
