Hi folks, my son thought todays paper was easier than the first paper. He was noticeably happier afterwards than 2 weeks ago. He finished paper about 5 minutes before time was up. No talk of any particular questions or words this time. His friend thought it was similar to first paper, he said there was a hard comprehension and he left 1 question out.
I will keep my son revising this coming week otherwise he might 'switch off' cos I think hes nearly burned out? Roll on next Saturday so we can all get back to normal!0 -
My daughter found today's paper harder and so did most of her friends. Funny to read that so many of the kids found the English harder than the Maths on G.L as my daughter was happy with the English and found the Maths difficult. She didn't like the way you have to mark your answers on the GL paper either. They had got a GL practice papers in school and she had brought a maths 1 home blank, I am good at maths problems and actually enjoy them and their were a few I struggled with and that was without any time restrictions!!! A friends mum who's maths is very strong struggled too. Poor kids....So glad there's only 1 week to go 😀0

Hi! Funnily enough my son found the test yesterday a lot easier than the first one and was definitely much happier. He would be stronger on the English than the maths. He was quite distressed when he realised everyone found the first test easy and confused when he heard people found yesterday's more difficult. Is it true that there is 1 test harder than the others? Can't wait for this to be over!0

Sparkles - that's similar to my son, he was much happier yesterday and he is better at Maths than English. I have been a bit concerned that he found the 1st paper hard when most other kids have said it was easy. I know his main concern was that the English was tricky in paper 1, gladly he did not mention any tricky English yesterday. I guess it just comes down to the particular words that appear in the English sections and whether or not a child knows and understands those words. We cannot expect them to know every word that may come up so therein lies the problem with English! I keep telling him that if he gets most of the Maths right (which he has done in several practice tests) then it won't matter if he drops several marks in the English. :cool:0 -
