OS Daily Monday 9th July

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Mon 9th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
.

Can't find the daily - am I the first? Bet someone's going to cross post with me!

Up far far too early. OH didn't sleep, so I couldn't, and PsychoKitty definately wanted to comfort suckle after his 4 am snack. He's got such a lovely loud motor-purr (or it would be if I wanted to be awake) and will NOT take "no" for an answer when it comes to finding a neck or finger to suckle. Sigh. Gave up sleeping when OH went to work at 5:15.

Having to crouch low over the keyboard ! I'm up so early this big bright yellow thing in the sky has just gone above the roofs opposite and is sending a lovely clear yellow light bouncing around the room - and straight into my eyes! :rotfl: Hope it means it won't rain much today.

Spent a lovely afternoon going around Fladbury's open gardens/fete. It's a lovely little village, but EVERY house and garden seems perfect. As OH said - "It's perfect but in a disturbing way". Even those houses you'd expect to have rusty old cars in the middle of scrubland that used to be garden weren't a mess - the lawns were mown, and doorsteps clean. A bit like Stepford Wives!

Have decided that this week is THE week I start to crack the back of both flyladying and all those outstanding jobs I have to do. I did work out that I have over 256 to-do items on my to-do list ! I've given myself 28 to do this week on top of general flylady - and that includes phoning people I don't want to talk with. :o

Loved the pampas grass stories! Must get round to dealing with the monster in my Dads lawn (another item for the list!)

Have a good day every1, and happy birthday or congrats or hugs to those that need it. :j

The kids (ones who are left at school) are on a week of activities such as surfing and beaches etc. They are looking forward to that, but it's raining again:( It's always raining these days.

Our friends in the USA had a baby this weekend, born on 7/7/7 weighing 7lb 7 oz. The 7th grandchild too.

Good morning to everyone! Just a quickie this morning - got to get DH up in a mo! Weather looks promising at the moment but we all know how that can change! Have LOADS of ironing that I must get done today, plus some baking and some more paperwork and a quick swish and swipe downstairs.

Had a good night's sleep last night - must be getting the lavender dose right again!

    Will look in later.

Have a great morning and (((hugs))) to everyone!

    Good Morning All

15 mins of peace and quiet left before the children get up.

No sun here yet but I beleive the forcast is good, washing basket will be emptied but ironing wasnt done yesterday so will try and get some done today.

Feeling bad as I need to phone the dentist first thing this morning, if I get an appointment today I wont be able to go on the school trip tomorrow as I will have to catch up on my business work (is roughly 2 hour round trip without the time at the dentist) so I wont be able to go on the school trip. DS is upset and I hate letting people down but because of DD's birthday we have family coming tonight and tomorrow night so I just wont be able to catch up.
I think OH will have to let them know this morning that I cant go so they can start making arangements, hope it doesnt cause them too much hassle.

So basically loads to do today, need to wrap up DD's presents. Also need to speak to PC man coz wireless network was playing up yesterday.

Really want to get everything up straight before the school hols so have this week and next. Got everything crossed that the weather picks up before then as that would make life much easier. GMTV just said it costs the average parent £750 to keep the children entertained!

Need to get off now, need to wake up DD, make lunches and iron shirts.
    Have a great day.

Good morning everyone .I have had a busy week-end with my DD and granchildren ensuring that I don't have time to worry too much.I see the surgeon today, plus the onclogist.Hopefully I will learn which bits of me they want to chop off.
I was thinking if they take too much from my right hand boob, I will be rolling down the road like a drunken sailor LOL, nothing new there then:rotfl: I am keeping a cheerful as possible as its better therapy than being grumpy. Grumpiness won't solve much.
I went to an investigation at one of my DD ghostsearches on Saturday night at a pub on the other side of Maidstone ,.It was very interesting and during the seance upstairs all sorts of odd things happened .My youngest DD is a locations co-ordinator for www.ghostsearchuk.co.uk and some of the investigations are really good .I am a bit laid back about this, as I think it's a possibility that there is something, but as yet I haven't been proved yea or nay, but last Saturday night was more than a bit odd to say the least .I can't go into too much detail, but I would never rubbish anything until I'd seen it. There was one chap ther who was a total disbeliever, but by the time he went home he had changed his mind. One of the head leaders there looked at me, and bearing in mind all she knew was I was Tess's Mum said '15 months and you will be having a celebration of sorts to give you an all-clear' .Tess hadn't told her a thing  Fingers crossed she is right .
Roll on this afternoon though, as the waiting is the bit that gets you down a bit.

My eldest DD took her DD to France for the day on Saturday and brought me back a lovely bottle of wine . I am 'baby-sitting' her DD next Friday as its my son-in-laws birthday I must make his card tomorrow I have a great idea for a saucy one for him. I have bought him a nice silk tie and a new Parker pen and a box of mints I have to wrap them this morning. I have been catching up on lots of little sewing jobs over the week-end as well. I wonder why boys school trousers seem to be sewn with useless thread .Every one of my youngest DDs boys trouser seem to unravel at the hem I think its because they are sewn with nylon thread that disintegrates in the washing machine.
Well thank you all for all your positive thoughts that you have been sending to me Its very kind of you all to be thinking of me at this time. I am sure most of you all lead very busy lives and have your own problems as I told my eldest DD yesterday its amazing how much kindness there is in the world. Well time for me to get the kettle on for a cuppa and some toast <<<hugs to those in need>>> and a cheery smile to the rest of you.It may be Monday, but only four more days to the week-end
    Cheers everyone:beer:

    Hi,

I'm about an hour and a half late starting off this morning coz went to bed late and was up in night. DD1's still poorly - has had a temp on and off for about a week now and now a nasty cough to go with it. I feel terrible taking the time off work but I'm going to have to coz there's no one I can ask to have her (plus I feel she needs some 1-2-1 time). I've had so much time off . I think I've done one full week this year!!

Dog has broken plug and wire on TD so I've been hanging round the house. I need to get a new washing line along with some pegs!! It's hard to judge whether or not you can hang it out tho at the mo incase there's terrential rain fall!!

I've got potatoes that need cooking and some chicken kievs (reduced in t**cos) for dinner tonight.

Does anyone know of some sort of super food I can give DD1 and myself (I've got it too) to give us a bit of strength - I haven't got a blender to do smoothies, but was thinking maybe some sort of soup that I could disguise anything she doesn't like in (v. fussy eater).

I haven't had time to read up yet but will try to later.

Hope every1's OK and lots of (((((HUGS))))) for those who need/want them.

    Luv Jxx
