    Hi

After the six months they remove the variety and knowlege package, could I have one of them still and does anybody know how much that would be?
Or do I have to have a certain amount.

Much cheaper than getting a tv aerial fitted on the roof :)

Do you not need an aerial for Sky then? If so this could be the answer to my problems as I'm still running my TV off an indoor aerial :-(
  • I'm in the same situation as Sneaker above - running TV off an indoor aerial (with mixed results). I've never had Sky/NTL/Freeview etc. and installing a rooftop aerial sounds like too much trouble so would this once-off package basically solve all my problems? (i.e. will I get an aerial or sat dish out of it that I can possibly reuse if I don't want to stay with Sky? or will I need to buy something before I can get this Sky deal working?)

By the way, looking at the list of channels, FilmFour is there but E4 isn't - strange, no?

edit: Ignore that last bit - I just spotted E4 in the "Variety" package

I thought the signal camethrough the dish, it has nothing to do with the aerial.
  • Do Sky then charge you for fiting the dish?

A Bit Of Subject But My Sky Box Has Stopped WorKing Green Light Wont Come On Just Red Any Ideas Whats Wrong Please And Its Out Of Warranty

I have experienced this a couple of times. This corrected it and turned the digibox back on, to the green light.

Unplug the TV/Sky Box from the main power socket. Wait for a couple of minutes. Then, remove the sky card from the slot on the digibox. Wait for a few minutes. Plug the TV and digibox back into the main power socket and switch the power on. Switch TV on, replace the sky card into its slot and wait a couple of seconds. Now, press SKY on your remote control. If this does not work try pushing the power on button on the sky digibox manually. This seems to "boot" up the box. If this does not work, try removing the sky card from its slot once more and pushing this back in. Again switch on the power button on the digibox.

Even if the box is out of warranty, if the above dioes not work, Sky technicians are usually very knowledgeable and a phone call should put this right.
  • Hi All
I would be interested in this deal IF it aired all the regional BBC and ITV channels. Recently the BBC aired the England game but viewers in Scotland did not get to see it. There are many examples of opportunities to channel hop on the same channel but within regions.

I believe that the full sky package does this-anyone know if the freeview does the same?

  • Sky does not charge you for installation as long as it is not a complex installation, if they have to use extra cabling etc, they will tell you if this is the case and you can chose to continue or not. You do not need a seperate Aerial if you have Sky as it will contain BBC, etc. The dish is yours to keep even if you dont take out packages after 6 months.
  • I use to be a sky subscriber over 6 years ago, the sky box gave up working so I dumped it,I used my own satellite dish to view sky also. Does anybody know if this deal would work for me because I used to be a subscriber years ago. I would I have to buy the full package price for a new dish and sky box.

    Thanks
