maybe 3 times per household - going to be expensive either way if sending off 20 postcards or phoning the number

I just would have thought the sorting of increased postal entries would create more manual labour for ITV... Can't see that those who currently enter online would swap to the phone route, rather than the postal route...

I'm not surprised if they change over to this system for all ITV entries... Unlimited entries in all formats would probably be a good thing, since clearly the 'X entries per phone number' was somewhat pointless, and people were finding ways to enter multiple times using various numbers. (Given that someone won a fabulous amount and was informed via email, because his / her phone number wasn't active, I'm not sure they even check the validity of the phone numbers that are given). Incidentally, am very pleased for that winner, and not suggesting he/she had duped ITV or anything, but I'm just pointing out that with a system limited by a mode of contact that isn't used, it has the potential for abuse.

They would only need a small shift to paid entries to cover the extra mail sorting costs (not doubt outsourced if they did it all the time).
I doubt people who web enter (say 6 to 12 times) will spend £3 to £6 on postal entries so there will be a far higher percentage of paid entrants to free ones and probably far more winners will have paid to enter.

There is no problem with them offering a postal entry route instead of a web one but removing the cap on paid entries is a bad thing which will almost certainly result in some people spending more than they do now (possibly too much) and is not a responsible move on the part of ITV.

The winner who got an e-mail was very lucky and it wouldn't surprise me if it had been sent by mistake and that's why no follow up e-mails were sent (I cannot see ITVs legal and compliance team being happy - it has favoured one entry route over another and that would certainly break the law if it were at the winner selection stage of the process)

ITV have tried the odd postal ones in the past, possibly with The Chase or something around that time slot (one of them was Tipping point), no doubt they will see if they get a sufficient increase in revenue to make it worthwhile to do it all the time or not.

Channel 4 and Five have postal almost all the time, when deal or no deal started to do comps again they were web entry but soon switched to postal.

    Would definitely save time!! :rotfl:

I quite like the idea of those who previously entered 3, 5, 6 times online now entering 20 times by post, and the poor ITV mailroom getting overloaded by compers' postcards... :D

But at at least 55p per card  that's gonna cost a lot

Do you know if there has ever been an MSE postal winner from this at all?
    Wishing you all good luck!

Yes Daza has won the Channel 4 one (Deal or No Deal I think)

It appears you can send as many as you like but each entry must be on its own postcard/sealed envelope and each of them must have the correct postage - your name and number are required.

Post – send your name and a contact telephone number (including area code if providing a landline number) to Loose Women 21, PO Box 7558, Derby, DE1 0NQ. Sufficient postage must be paid – any entries without sufficient postage will be discounted. Each sealed envelope/postcard will only count as one entry. If an entrant submits more than one entry on a postcard or in an envelope, the first entry reviewed will be used and any further entries discarded. The Promoter and producers bear no responsibility for any entry that is incorrectly submitted, lost or received after the closing date, or damaged in any way

This says one entry on postcard or sealed down envelope so not worth wasting money on more than one entry as it will be discarded >

I think you can send as many entries as you like (which fits with unlimited paid entries) but each must be on its own postcard - If you put more than one entry on each card/sealed envelope only one will count.

Even if it was limited there is nothing to stop someone entering with several different phone numbers - there isn't a limit per name, be tough on J Smith etc if there was.

If you make lots of entries then the postal route only works out about 25p cheaper than phoning for every entry. (£3.08 for the first 3 phone entries but then £1.54 for every 2 after that compared to £1.06 for every 2 postal ones)
