Oh that's a shame. I've got plenty of postcards (raided the local library who had stacks!!) but guess I'll be topping up on more stamps now if they decide to all go this way :-(

The response to my complaint was just a set of instructions on how to enter by post so I've used the feedback link in the email to reiterate the point.

Not sure what complaint could be made, postal entry fully complies with the regulations regarding a free entry route.

I just would have thought the sorting of increased postal entries would create more manual labour for ITV... Can't see that those who currently enter online would swap to the phone route, rather than the postal route...

I'm not surprised if they change over to this system for all ITV entries... Unlimited entries in all formats would probably be a good thing, since clearly the 'X entries per phone number' was somewhat pointless, and people were finding ways to enter multiple times using various numbers. (Given that someone won a fabulous amount and was informed via email, because his / her phone number wasn't active, I'm not sure they even check the validity of the phone numbers that are given). Incidentally, am very pleased for that winner, and not suggesting he/she had duped ITV or anything, but I'm just pointing out that with a system limited by a mode of contact that isn't used, it has the potential for abuse.

you can't suggest that jess some people are very sensitive BUT you do raise a good point. I have about 6 sim cards here that i could potentially use.

Personally I wouldn't be that disappointed if they were!

I've wasted a so many hours entering them over the years that I think it has become an unhealthy addiction.

I only ever used one phone number on web entries but I think it brings out the worst in people who buy extra mobile phones specifically to put in multi-entries to these things.

If these web entries do come to an end at least it makes the odds a little fairer for those people who do not have internet access and enter by phone.

What would be fairer is one entry per person per household, I think most people would agree that that would be better :)

i don't have a problem with the use of multiple phone numbers, I actually don't see that as abusing the comp terms since it is X entries per phone number...

My point was more that ITV have no way of knowing whether the numbers given are genuine (i.e. connected to a SIM owned by that person), given that they are emailing some winners now... Whereas at least if it's unlimited, there's not that same potential.

    Would definitely save time!! :rotfl:

I quite like the idea of those who previously entered 3, 5, 6 times online now entering 20 times by post, and the poor ITV mailroom getting overloaded by compers' postcards... :D
