Mum stopping with us tonight as she doesn't seem to be 100% think she may have just sat in the sun a little bit to long. Will see how she is tomorrow.
Spent £15 today taking us up to £80.61
Got a piece of pork for tomorrow however its not quite as big as I thought now its defrosted so will be doing plenty of veg and potatoes with it and some sausages and stuffing balls to eek it out. There certainly wont be any left overs this week and we were going to have pork rolls Monday.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Evening everyone! Did my weekly shop today for £19.74. Ds went around with calculator while dd pushed the trolley. Was aiming for under £20. Total now still running at just under £1pppd. Must keep strong towards the end of the month!
Did my tax credit renewal, and they've reduced my payment by about £100 per month, after reducing it last year by a huge percentage. Not best pleased, as with inflation etc, I'm now bringing in much less than I was five years ago, in real terms. Where else to shave money?!!
On a plus side, smiling isn't taxed!!
Night all

Hi. Sorry for lack of posts - I have been catching up with posts every few days but just haven't had a moment to sit & type one! I have, however, been keeping a track of my spending and have updated my signature today.... so far £232.86 which aint too bad for us at nearly half way through the month. I have cupboards, fridge and freezer full although this is going to be a bit of a nightmare week -I am working long hours and both kids are going away next weekend and need food for long coach journeys (DD to Amsterdam & DS to French Alps). Will probably end up buying snacks for them to take but will see what I can rustle up first (can feel some midnight baking coming on!).
Discovered this week that no one has been collecting eggs from chickens we keep at work so some have gone to waste  ...not any more!
Found some YS chicken thighs (not fillets so have bones to contend with) in bottom of freezer which I have now defrosted and need to decide what to do with. Probably some sort of casserole in slow cooker I think.
Will try to post more regularly...if only there were more hours in the day!

Thank you to so worried for the heads up about MrS. I just went there and got five tom and chilli purees, a few lemon chicken jars and a Goan masala paste jar. Couldn't find the other bits you'd said were on offer, but pleased with that anyway. Children with their dad next weekend, so I'll be trying some of those things then.
I spent £4.something, so I'll add it on once I can be bothered to get the receipts!

Im in to update my sig. I tell you, after months of spending willy nilly, its a true eyeopener to keep a spend diary again. You don't realise what little bad habits have crept back in, as in finding yourself in a shop every day! In my defence I do stick to the items I went in for.
Anyway, on the plus side I am under budget and using up bits from the freezer for lunches. Got in from church today to find OH had made lovely HM sausage rolls with a pack of pastry and sausage meat I forgot we had. My frugality is rubbing off!! They will do him for his lunch tomorrow.
On the subject of chicken thighs - I make up a mix of spices to make a spicy Cajun rub and pop the thghs in it for a few hours. Then they are griddled ( or BBQ) with salad & pitta. I sometimes lash out and put a splodge of greek yog on the top!
Enjoy your Sunday xx
