And this is something that may be of interest to vegans who want something cheap... I found these Granovita pates in Aldidoodah today and they were 99p each. In H&B which is the only "mainstream" place I know of that you can get them, they are £1.69 or 2 for £3, so this is definitely a good deal!!granovita by Dieting elsie, on Flickr

Oh my goodness, I LOVE these pates, Ald1 have them every once in a while, they used to be even cheaper, but still a great price! Thanks for the heads up, I will be blowing the budget on the mushroom one especially! The only problem is when I buy them I just eat pate on toast for every meal until they are gone - not very diet friendly! I love the sound of Bristol Veg fest too!
Well, NSD today and yesterday groceries wise - only bought petrol and rabbit hay - so that makes 3 in a row which is pretty good for me!
Meals planned:
Monday - ate at my parents'
Tuesday - hm curry (pizza from freezer for DS)
Wednesday - spaghetti and artichokes for me, cous cous and veggie sausages for DD and DS
Thursday - LO spaghetti for me, pasta and quorn bolognaise for DD and DS
Friday - baked potatoes and falafels for me and DD (DS at his dad's)
Yes - meals would be easier if we all ate the same thing....
Have made a Tesco order for delivery on Thursday, should be about £20 to add to budget because I am not counting the cake ingredients for a friend's birthday - it is her present from me.0 -
Been a bit spendy this week so far. Spent £11.80 on lunch while out on a bike ride on Monday and today I spent £5.98 on Freezer bags, foil and plastic containers and carpet freshener (stinky office ); and £13.41 in Mr M's on bits I can't buy from A1di. Brings the total to £76.82 - which is a heck of a lot 4 days in but once I've bought the meat from a local butcher's (£36 ish) I will have almost all the ingredients for every evening meal this month (plus 2.5kg chicken for the freezer). Just need a few A1di bits, some fruit and top up milk, bread, sandwich fillings, cereals, etc.
I have taken the money out and put it in a set purse for groceries (inc cat stuff, household cleaning goods and eating out) but then remembered that the bank are doing 10% cashback on my 'next' Mr M shop so bought on the card (£1.34 is not to be sniffed at!). Will adjust accordingly.
It's good to be back in control and have a bit of a support network to boot!

Well yep another NSD for me ... first 2 days of June ... good start
Dinner didn't go as planned as I had a problem with the dehydrator so ended up spending the time not making dinner but making cakes ...just getting to bed now and its up at 5.30 to fit my workout in before I leave for work ...
So good NSD but not good as loads of cakes and no real food .... I have given most of the cakes away as I'm at work all day until late for the next 2 days/nights ... so I am popular with parents kids and grandparents but I just couldn't let the cut up fruit meant for dehydrating go to waste .... I will be calling into Lakeland tomorrow to complain (I literally took it out of the box tonight) !!

Needed to pop into town this morning to get DH's sandles stitched, as the Timpsons is in Mr Ts and we wanted some ice lollies I decided to do all the freezer stuff today instead of tomorrow! Spent £13.35 on frozen stuff, £2.00 to get sandles stitched and £5 in butchers for some sausages which will do 2 meals. To spent to date £40.27/£250.

Hi,
Checking in for first spends of June
DH went to C*stco for some non-food items we buy form there in bulk (loo roll, cleaning products, washing powder etc) which totalled £64.62
I have made a meal plan for the week (so far so good) and am adding new ideas to the bottom as I think of them to draw inspiration from for future weeks. Have done a big shop plus a couple of smaller visits which have totalled £125.52 making a grand total of £190.14
This is larger than I intended to be so early in in the month. I am blaming DH for the C*stco stuff, but I guess it will even itself out over time and we have worked out that what we buy is more economical than supermarkets.
This leaves £309.86 for the rest of June, and I have various vouchers burning a hole in my purse which require a large spend - a Sainsboob one for £12 of if I spend £60, a Morrys one for £4 if I spend £50 and a Mr T for £15 off if I spend £60 online all of which expire this weekend. I can't really use them all and stay within budget for the rest of the month - I'll need to do fresh stuff later in the month even if I stock-up on non-perishables this week. Will perhaps use the Sainsboobs or Mr T one as these are the largest savings.
Will update signature now.
Poolie.
PS am finding the forum a great tool to help me focus and get inspired:T
