    Hello all

I am back from hols and am now not working so I need to pull the purse strings tight this month. I am going for £265 from yesterday up to and including 29th June. There is no reason why I should not come in lower than this as I have a full freezer and larder and am at home so should be able to cook cost effective meals from scratch.

The only problem is I we both want to lose weight and I want to increase my f&v portions to at least 8 which will push up the bill. I am going to include 2 veggie meals a week though so this should help the costs a little bit.

Went to sains this morning as out of milk, fruit and basics as I was away last week. I also bought dog food as it was on offer and dog chews. Total was £47.75:eek:

I also need to add in the £5 I gave DH for lunch today as there was nothing in.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75
  • Quick shop in Waitrose as I had a £4.50 voucher to use and spent £8.06, that was for 16 pints of milk, 36 burgers, seed potatoes and a 4 pack of Flakes. Very pleased with that spend :j

Hey guys, mind if I join in?

Having bought my first place six months ago it's become clear that my budget leaves no room for things I'd like. So I've decided to squirrel whatever I can from my grocery budget in order to attain these things!

Can I set myself a limit of £100 for June please? Sounds like a lot, but I need to restock after gutting and replacing my kitchen over the last three months.

Online order of £58.68 was delivered this week so now all I need is "bits".

A wonderful and frugal June to you all! :T

  • Popped into Ald1 but no Granose pates to be seen :(
Bought some crisps and oatcakes, £1.65 to add. Tesc0 delivery due any minute, should be around £25 because I had a £10 off voucher due to rubbish service last time.... I STILL haven't had the promised phone call to apologise, but ten quid speaks louder than an apology as far as I am concerned!

    Hello,

New forumite, having been a bit of a lurker....

I'm joining in for June for £250.

This is for 2 adults and a dog and will include household cleaning goods. I'm not including booze in this as I'm tallying up how much we spend on that separately, we like whiskey and spirits and I think I'm going to be shocked at how much is spent on that....

    Thanks JIL.

JackieO - do you have Home Bargains near you - because large tins of good brand C beef are only £1.79 there. We make a large tin do two corned beef hash meals - so 4 portions. It is lovely and very filling! Fry some onions - mix with 1/4 tin cb and half tin baked beans per person and top with mash. Bake as cottage or shepherds pie until heated trhough. Yesterday used Maris Piper pots - best yet

:( No sadly the nearest one to where I live is 23 miles away in Canterbury. But your recipe sounds delicious I have copy and pasted it to my online cook book folder :) I love new recipes that can streeetch food a bit more. When my OH was alive I used to spread a tin of baked beans on top of the sheps pie mincemeat then top with cheesy mash very filling and it was usually a mid week meal for myself ,him and the two children
LO's were delicious for lunch today, and so filling. I only had to m'wave a sweet potato with some grated cheese and salad for dinner tonight.
I did an inventory of my freezer this afternoon and re-did my list that I have stuck on the outside of it.I found a few bits I had forgotten about so more than enough to get through this week-end without needing to go to the shops :):) Left over cash from my food purse has gone into the holiday tin and tomorrow I'll get my £60.00 food budget from the bank and refill my food purse for June. I found I have more beef mince than I thought in the freezer so next monday when my friend arrives from Dartford I have decided to make a nice big lasange for our lunch, and any left over will be portioned up for the freezer

Yay today did turn into another NSD that's the first 4 days of June :)
I did call into town today as I opened one of the 5% TSB accounts (nice to have savings for a change) and I just didn't call into B&M or HB as its far to easy to spend and I don't need anything ...
I'm hoping I can keep stretching the NSDs out ... I've still got loads in from last month and its just me and boys this weekend as BF and his lil one aren't visiting, so fingers crossed ;)

Blimey! Just thought I would search for the June thread to put in my target and it is up to page 6 already. I guess that is why the May one is so quiet. Not many people seem to do calendar month but from pay days so I guess that's why.
Anyway I'm going for£250 again please for 2 adults, 2 children and 2 cats for all food, cleaning and toiletry purchases!
