NSD yesterday, though not physically adding them to sig any more.
Today went out for fizzy water, no savers stuff again in M*rrisons ... and last week none on Tesco online; so will have to stock up on small Asd^ online shop on Thursday. Spent £5.47 on cherries, basil for pasta ( prefer fresh), grapes and cucumber and £4.76 in the C*-*p on YS Asparagus and swede, milk, packed lunch biscuits and Krisprolls (as we are trying to eat more wholegrain).

Spent £12.05 today, needed baby wipes which are not cheap really and chicken for tomorrow's dinner, rest was small stuff. Need to go to Sainsburys at some point as Asda don't have sea salt only small flavoured expensive stuff grrrr
Quite pleased as made bendy carrot soup for lunch and DS liked it, enough for lunch tomorrow and still have some carrots left so I might make some more to freeze. Looked at Abel and Coles's recipe box, I find they are great for inspiration, I have all the ingredients to make their Lamb Auberghetti apart from the aubergine and it looks pretty simple to make so I'm going to make that for Thursday's dinner, tomorrow night using up green thai curry paste and coconut milk and then on Friday my meat, fruit and veg box is turning up so hopefully don't need to spend much for the next few daysStay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013

Evening all
Haven't been on for a few days but have had to do a little bit of a shop £6.04 at mr S for bread milk and potatoes but shouldn't need anything else before we go away on Friday. My spend for the month was £141.18 giving me £8.82 left over.
Will work on meal plan and shopping list before we go and have it delivered either lateish Monday or Tuesday. Think I'll work on the same budget as this month and see how I do.

I have plenty of stuff in our very small freezer and am going to do my best to bring this average down. I'm hoping a couple of lower spend months through July and August. We'll see.
What does everyone think of a budget of £250 a month for me and two 15-year-olds for food, household, cleaning items and toiletries? I think I'm harder on myself about it as I don't recognise enough it's not just food? £3,000 a year to have all that covered isn't that bad is it? After a bit of reassurance really, I'm not in any debt.
This time last year though I was managing to stay under £200 and that was with our lovely dog as well. Now I'm busier at work so this must be a reason, I'm not making my own sauces or soup as I was or batch cooking. Too tired I think! Also this time last year I wasn't drawing any salary at all and I am now, I wonder if I have become a little more complacent because of this? I do have a savings target though and would like to contribute more to this.
Life as ever seems to get in the way, with both my mum and my dad in law in hospital at the same time, plus all the other trials and tribulations so many of us face -- does this make a difference do you think?
Thank you for any guidance!
Mrs C kept meaning to come back and reply to this, I think you are being too hard on yourself, if you do the maths you are spending just under £3 a day each. that's feeding, cleaning and toiletries, and you have 2 teenagers, that's really good going in my book. So sorry to hear about your Mum and FIL hope both better soon, Chin up Pet you are doing great.Slimming World at target0 -

I have been making better use of leftovers though, and even made a strata with leftover baguette at the weekend - it was so nice I am making it again this weekend!
Maybe we have just had more practice :rotfl: I think you're doing really well. The fact you're trying is half the battle - well done :T
Another NSD here today but don't know if I'll make the budget this month as not much left and still a week to go
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday
