Tea tonight is a frozen veggie paella I keep for convenience! Need to do some flylady stuff and finish off next month's meal plan - the boring bit where I work out what nights I need to get soaking beans for the following day etc! All fun here...

Although I have just been swapped from 9-5.30 to 7-3.30 tomorrow and Wednesday, so fingers crossed for nice weather as I'll be out in the garden making the most of it! Everyone is commenting on my tan - first time ever in my life!:D

Hope everyone's not had too hideous a Monday!

    Hello everyone

Another nsd for that's 11 in a row and starting to go stir crazy not spending anything!!

I'm really wanting some fresh fruit not just the tinned fruit I have in, so tomorrow when I'm doing some granny sitting for dd3 I will be going in mozzers or Ald@ to have a look at what they have, I hope I dont go too mad. Had greek butterbeans for dinner tonight, a recipe out of Jacks book followed by another 3 strawberries from the garden with the remaining yogurt, so have none of that left now.

    Nsd 11 in a row
    Money spent since 13/6 £0

  • Weekly shop done at @ldi with just over £65 spend. More than I should spend in a week, but I got quite a bit.

I'm should have enough meals in for the end of the month, so just top up basics needed at the weekend. If I can do this, I'll actually be under my monthly budget.

Also, I've done some batch cooking and have quite a bit of meat in the freezer which will rollover into next month.

I hope I'm this happy about the challenge this time next week!

I don't let OH shop, he has no concept of what is a good price per kilo on things.
When we first had to start limiting our spends we had to sit down and work out a budget we could afford. That works out at £240 per month and it is tight. He understands that he is useless at trying to shop in that range so leaves it to me while he sorts out the accounts and getting the best interest rates and things.
You have to sit down and talk about what you both want from this then he will get on board with it :)

I get where you're coming from. But he likes to be helpful. He likes to shop. For example this evening, he was coming home late. I offered to put on spuds for him, there was steak out of the freezer for himself. But no, he wanted food immediately when he got in (which it would have been), he didn't want to put me out - so he got the chips. We've had the talk and he actively doesn't want to scrimp and save....but I just want us to stick to a budget so we have the money over so we can still go out for dinner or do the nice things we like to while saving :( It will have to be little tricks so he doesn't feel the need to help ;)

    Hey everyone!

First day at the new job was OK, will take a while to get my head around I think! Luckily shouldn't take me long to get in a new routine as it's the same working hours (in fact with the option of a bit of flexi time which I didn't have before) and I get the same public transport method (in the opposite direction but takes same amount of time to get there) so quite handy really.

Declaring at £185.42 / £180 after a small Mr T spend yesterday. Don't mind that it's a fiver over as it was a five weekend month so was a bit ambitious anyway!

Dinner was tasty, an oven-baked frittata with potatoes, onion, peas, cheese and rosemary. The potatoes made it filling - I like frittatas but normally they're quite a light dinner so I'll be making this again :)
