been a week now since I got the email "We are still reviewing your application and we’ll contact you, if we need any further information, within 3 working days. Once we’ve completed your application, we’ll contact you to confirm the next steps."
you think I should give them a ring or is this the normal time-scale??

I would contact them, as I got an acceptance email the same afternoon.

got acceptance email for the credit card the same day but nothing now for a week for the Current Account Application

Good Grief! Just had my debit card through for my M&S current account and it's the most feminine card I've ever seen!

Glad I'm not going to be pulling that card out of my wallet that often. Still, the splash of colour does make a change from the swathe of black that currently occupies my wallet.

Time to start the switching process now.

If anyone's wondering about giftcards, my switch date was 29th July and I received my giftcard yesterday (21st Aug).

Switch completed today. Countdown until the gift card arrives begins.


Was quite a smooth process actually. Might keep the account just as a back up and in case I ever need the free £100 OD, not that I use the free £250 FD either but still.


As previous posters said, the debit card is far too embarrassing to ever grace the wallet though.

For some reason I can't get in to their web site at the moment. If you can wait a while I'll check the T&Cs when they become available.
