    Morning all

Looks like survey is booked in for Friday.... Fingers crossed! Now Halifax have accepted the mortgage it seems if the valuation goes well that mortgage will be offered and then we can move forward with everything else. I cannot wait to leave our current rental. Honestly, the agents are SUCH a pain and a complete waste of time and money. I wish they would just leave us alone. Every single month we have had at least one visit from them for various things - if we weren't moving we would change the locks because they do not give the proper notice just turn up and do things without asking...

    Never mind.

Worrying and stressing about the house is making me eat lots, but still trying by best at the gym xx

Survey day.... I am unbelievably nervous.

Yesterday I was the victim of a horrid road rage incident. I accidently cut someone up on the motor way (someone right behind me driving fast and flashing) and I thought the lorry to my right was slowing down to let me out. Turns out he was speeding up and he went mental. He chased me the 5 miles into down (overtaking and swearing at me the whole way) to make sure he was right behind me at the traffic lights. I started to panic as he got out of the lorry and came up and started smashing on my window. He tried to open the door so I locked the car quickly and honked my horn solidly. He got his keys out and started trying to smash my window with them all the time scream he was going to kill me and get me. He also said it was all on film so I better watch out. Terrified I then noticed the light was green and all the other cars around me were gone so I quickly tried to drive off... He followed me until I could get away down a side street and turn around. I rang the police who were awful and really not very helpful. Managed to do my meeting and get home ok. Really shaken me up though. At least it took my mind of the house stuff for an afternoon!

This weekend mothership and bro coming down to look at new house. Owner said he might be around in which case I can show her inside. She is so talented at interiors I cant wait to hear about her ideas.

Have a lovely weekend all xx

OMG! What a nutter! I hope you're okay. He probably felt like a big man doing it to a woman on her own. I keep a can of WD40 in my glove box in case anything like that happens. I can't even imagine how you felt!

Thanks - my mum suggested a can of deoderant (not a weapon but can be used to defend myself) so sorting that out ASAP!

To be honest its just horrid that someone like that drives a lorry for a living... what if I was pregnant? One of my best friends is pregnant and now I have made sure when she drives around London by herself shes got something to defend herself with.

  • What an absolute prat that lorry driver was. Do you know who he worked for - you could put in a complaint to his company.

Hope you have a lovely weekend with the family and survey went well Xx

  • Happy anniversary :) and congratulations on mortgage/moving :j

I was targeted by a motorcyclist in a road rage incident — he was obviously speeding because he wasn't there before I pulled into another lane (and yes, I always check my blind spots) but right behind me when I pulled out, in a 30mph zone with over 300 yards visible behind. He decided that swearing and shouting at me was appropriate, although I apologised straightaway (more in the hope that he would go away than because I thought I was at fault — if I was, he was just as much responsible for speeding). It's scary and I just about held my cool until I got home, burst into tears and swore never to drive again.

Thankfully, after I thought it through, I realised that I shouldn't let such an a$$hole have a big impact on my life. Everyone makes mistakes when driving: mistakes are annoying and potentially dangerous but most pass without bad consequences, so are forgivable. Abusing another person is intentional and unforgivable, no matter what the provocation. I have also been helped by my belief in karma — people who abuse others will get the same right back at them, but multiplied.
