  • Morning all last day in the west country before heading up to london for a few days. I am looking forward to it all and Very MSE with only £20 for travel and free accommodation! Although it is nearly 3 hours on the train there and then the same on the bus back... Doh! never mind.

My fancy scales don't seem to be working with the bluetooth so I might take them back but will have to try and find an alternative .

Hope you are all good! xx

  • I really want to see that film too, glad you liked it!

Hope you enjoy London and the trip is ok!

If you decide to get different scales I can recommend the Salter 9141 ones, they're on sale on Amazon at the moment and they do weight as well as body fat %. They don't have Bluetooth or anything but you might be able to enter it manually into your app?

  • Hi

Had the best news last night. PPI CLAIM!!! WOOP more than I thought too. £890!!!!!!!!

I had tears in my eyes when I opened the letter I felt so lucky. Now what to do with it. We havent had a holiday (don't even mention the south of france it still makes me shiver how bad that 'break' was!!) so I would like to plan for that. paying off my loan now, so RBS tell me, wouldn't make a huge difference (ie I would only pay £20 less interest). Now, I am thinking that perhaps I should pay some off it anyhow. At the moment my savings (including that £800) mean that I have as much in savings as I do debt. £1,700 left on loan at £217.18 a month until July 2016. £1040 left on 0% cards (paying this off every month still over a year left at 0% aim is to have got rid of this by January but most likely March 2016). I would also like to start a home buyers ISA, at the max a month but think I need to redo my SOA.

I might also give myself some ££ to have a treat... just something where I get what I want! Although this has changed somewhat in recent years, most likely to be a bargain off ebay! Although I did buy all the gym bits so perhaps I should forgo that? Anyhow have a great day everyone xxx

Great news - very happy for you! :T
  • Thank you all for the well wishes. I bought a new dress off ebay. I love Jack Wills and it was £15, plus some converse which were also £15 which I then used the 20% off ebay code to bring the total down to £24 including postage. really chuffed with that!

With regards to the rest of the money I have opened a new account and it is in there earning some interest as I paid the cheque in yesterday. I will also have another £20 to put into it as we have had a few power cuts and I complain about the frequency and the length we were off for (4 times over 2 hours in 6 weeks) which meant that they sent me out some compo even though the rules say I didn't qualify so always worth trying!

Been looking at holidays and hopefully DH can have some time in May off as we can get an all inclusive from bristol to greece for £200 each including flights. So think thats a a bit of a bargain! But won't book anything just yet.

Tonight we have lots of people over for dinner. I am doing a Jamie Oliver Super Food recipe, I borrowed it from the library. Its very MSE. I am making a butternut squash lasagne. As Al** have them in the super 6 at 59p the whole thing is costing me about £3 to make. Plus then 75p for the salad. For 5 people I think that is pretty damn good. Lots of the recipes are quite cheap to make and healthy.

Anyhow have a lovely weekend all x

  • Hello all having a wonderful time today. Gym at lunch and checking out holidays. It is terribly exciting.

Moneywise having people over is expensive! MY SiL bought over a bottle of wine on Friday no one else bought anything and they drank an awful lot. Mentioned to my bro this shouldnt be the case, he is VERY MSE haha.

Hope everyone else enjoyed the weekend?
