    Thanks for spotting this

I can get it to update some (Vanguard, HSBC), but no luck so far with BlackRock or L&G.

Same here - works for everything I have with Fidelity, but not BlackRock. Will try dropping a note to the author to see
  • I have tried the software and it worked quite well.
However the problem is that the source of the prices,MSN, doesn't have good coverage of UK Funds. What I found was that either the Fund is not on MSN or,in many cases it doesn't have the price information even though they have details of the fund.
My hit rate was 11 out of 29 and in 5 of those cases the date was older than it should have been
What is a bit odd is that Funds which up until August of last year did auto update now won't do so. Notable omissions are Artemis, Jupiter and Old Mutual.
Has any other UK based reader found a solution to this?

I have checked a few funds and as you say OM and Jupiter prices are N/A on MSN (http://uk.moneycentral.msn.com/investor/quotes/quotes.aspx?symbol=GB0006664683)

I note in the teeny writing at the bottom, prices last updated 31/5/2013

Perhaps a concerted complaint to the author of the prog will get him to complain to MSN.....

We should all complain directly to MSN that they are publishing out-of-date information on moneycentral.

Works very well for me, for all investments except one Artemis fund. I can live with that for the moment - this software is saving me a lot of effort in keeping prices up to date . Well worth the $10

Yes that is probably a better way.
  • Thanks for the comments.
    I've written to MSN today.
I'll let you know if I get a reply
  • Has anyone experienced problems with the password? When I open MS Money I am and have always had to enter a password which was linked to msn passport, for many years the password has been saved and I just click on enter and the file opens.

However to use this new piece of software I need to disable the password as its not compatible with passport. The problem is using passport manager in the programme will not let me remove or change it, has anyone else come across this ? I am using a previously downloaded MS Money 2005 version 14 (120.1105) until I can get this resolved I cant use the new software for the auto price updates which is a pain as I am currently updating my stocks monthly manually.

Just found this info on Gaier. Very good. Well done those who posted the details!

    Just a couple of queries.

Has anyone found a symbol to get the FTSE without it displaying as a currency ie £6,744.87?

Stocks and shares are fine but the funds seem difficult to sort a symbol.
Has anyone discovered one for (say) Invesco Perpetual High Income? and if so please "show working" .

    Thanks,

    Mike

What you need for funds is the full 12 character ISIN code which you can find on ft.com or on the fund's factsheet.

For IPHI this might be GB0033031484 (depending on which fund class you hold)

To check that prices are available use MSN moneycentral:
    *http: //uk.moneycentral.msn.com/investor/quotes/quotes.aspx?symbol=GB0033031484

*I've inserted a space in that URL so it doesn't get mangled by the forum software

If moneycentral doesn't show a price Money Updater will not be able to retrieve it.

Can't help with the FTSE, sorry.
