No Just assetts & Liabilties, stupid I no but I didnt think to send all bills etc.,! However they are all ready to send now, but my brother refuses to deal with solictor and want to send direct to Sister 1. What would be the implications from the solicitor if I didnt respond to his letter please?0

Point out to your brother that the solicitor only has sister's side of the story. If you send copies of everything to both of them, at least you know that the solicitor has all the facts.0 -
Can I just recap?
You have probate.
You and the brother to whom you refer above are executors?
There is sister who has the lawyer and is challenging everything.
There is sister 2 who is a nightmare and stirs everything up?
And brother the executor who seems to want to put sister one in her place?
You have distributed jewelry but not other goods or assets. Sister 1 and 2 have made that a nightmare for different reasons?
How much (very round figures) are we talking about? £2k, £20K or £2m?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Who says you cannot distribute? It is up to the executor not the beneficiaries. Don't let them try it on by bullying you.We originally sent to all beneficiaries all assets & Liabilities, with the figure of inheritance, 5 have accepted - however sister 1's solictor has requested all copies of Bills/Bank Statements, not previously requested by the solictor, their comments are they will then decide whether they accept or reject' the inheritance.
If they reject for what ever reason we cannot distribute the inheritance to all other silbings?
Thank you!0 -
We have distributed everything now, house contents and the jewellery on the 2nd August. I wrote to solicitor asking if she wanted to meet or send her daughter to choose. Sister 1 wanted sister 2 to choose her pieces, and it was delivered to the solicitors office and signed for. Sister 1 now says she is now unhappy with her pieces and the solicitor is asking how we distributed it? and what pieces did I have. They want it redistributed and will send further instructions, sister 1 has asked sister 2 to sign an affidavit to recover jewellery. Neither I or the Stirring sister want to redistribute.
Yes I do feel like I am seriously being bullied, sister 1 is the eldest and had her nose pushed out. Now Executor Brother shouting at me for dealing with a bully solicitor, so I am emotional I just want it all over and done with so I can grieve!
RAS you have it spot on!
There is £155k between 6 of us! Everytime I go to see a solicitor its costing £90! so trying to avoid going to him again.0 -

In which case I think you need to stop doing this yourselves and get a good fierce solicitor to do the last bits for you. There are at least 3 people getting off on making your life a misery, possible four if you include the solicitor.
Remove yourself from the equation and the temptation to make life a misery is removed. And you get some peace.
You have started the distribution so cannot remove yourselves as executors. You can however legally tell a solicitor to do the leg work and the estate pays.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Does the will allow solicitors advice to be taken?
If so, point out to all involved that every solicitors intervention will reduce the whole estate.
This might bring pressure on the "ugly sisters" from the other beneficiaries, to shut up and take their share of what's left.0 -
I have been using a solicitor for advise at £90 an hour, this is against my brothers wishes, as my sister 1 is a fruit loop. We have now also fallen out because he refused to give me any utility copy bills to send to her solicitor (my solictor advised I dont legally have too) so I've given in and given my brother all my copies, of the funeral etc., which he has sent today to sister 1 direct by recorded delivery. He is so stubborn and refuses point blank to deal with her 'bully solicitor' sister 2 has been on the phone again stirring saying that she is taking us to court? for what I have no idea. Sister 1 believes that when we were POA's for mum over a 7 year period we spend her money! These 2 so called sisters did nothing to care for mum, not even so much as cooked her a meal. They both admitted in the beginning they wish they did more, and I know they are both jealous of the relationship I had with both my parents, I've looked after them more than any of the other sibling from when I was 18!. Its mums anniversary tomorrow and I know she would be turning in her grave. This seems to be never ending, can she take me to court to investigate while I was one of the POA's? My 3 brothers think I am pathetic and worrying about nothing but all this is making me so ill!
My brother refuses point blank to use a solicitor! he said if she wants to waste her inheritance that up to sister 1!
The final solicitors letter requesting bills said they would either accept of reject, every bill has been enclosed apart from 2, for around £31.00!! which I cant find.
Sorry to go on!!0 -
Reference the POA in theory she can go to Court but unless she actually has some credible evidence she will not get far. I would call her bluff and tell he to carry on.I have been using a solicitor for advise at £90 an hour, this is against my brothers wishes, as my sister 1 is a fruit loop.
