Did they tell you why? Is this a problem for you? Is your jobcentre particularly difficult to get to or something?0

Your not going to get any positive comments on here, end day your getting paid to not be at work.
So yes you should be at the job centre checking everyday.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
do they pay for your travel?
I know someone who has to go every day. It's the new governement scheme isn't it>?
All he has to do is go and show his face and go home again pretty much.
It's a waste of time and I gather the staff think so too0 -

Well, it gets them out of the house, gets them a bit of exercise, and makes sure that they aren't at risk of being a recluse, so it can't be a total waste of time.0 -
Hi OP,
Its part of the conditions of getting benefit; the only way to stop is to stop claiming benefits (win the lottery, get a job etc).0 -

It seems like a waste of time but as above all those points are valid but it's also the annoyance of having to go...so its an extra push to get a job.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
It's seems like a waste of time to me but there again those of us with jobs have to get up on a daily basis and go to work. Pretty much a lot of the boll*cks we have to deal with on a daily basis is a complete waste of time as well.Iva started Dec 2018.0

I was wondering if they pay fares too.
Bus fare to my nearest JC is £5 per day return or £24 for the cheapest weekly ticket. That seems like an awful lot out of basic JSA.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

Checking what ?
Jobcentres don't have those boards with cards anymore
Do these daily sign ons mean people are offered facilities to job hunt in the JCs- My local one did away with terminals in the general areas a while ago.
(Unlike some I'm not making assumptions but asking how this daily thing works.....if anything depending on travel time it may reduce job searching time surely?)
I can see the benefit of weekly signing rather than fortnightly however . Daily seems to be an excuse to find reasons to sanction however.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

What are the point in Job centres if they don't show you what jobs are available? Surely they must do this in some form or other? Even from these boards some people have said about applying for jobs at the job centre or face sanction ...??
I havn't been in one since just coming out of school...
Either way as above it gets you out the house ~ it gets the lazy people (not saying all job seekers are lazy !!) dressed out the house and ready to go...where as if they could just sit in the houses all day and get paid some people would.People don't know what they want until you show them.0
