Hey everyone,

Some of you will know me from my British guys thread. We went out last Friday to this British style pub/bar for food and the food part of the date was excellent. I especially find toad in the hole delicious but it went so so bad after that. lycra which i look great in. gaffer tape. gaffer tape. gaffer tape bodge. lycra. cycling lycra. tweeps. gaffer tape. bird next door. birds love it. birds love it. gaffer bodged. shaved legs lycra. lycra which i look great in. gaffer tape.

We were sat at the bar having a drink and talking to the people next to us (they were American) when one of them suggested we play a drinking game. I don't really remember what the drinking game was, I do remember though the drink was a filled shot glass placed inside a bigger glass filled with some other type of drink and you drink them both in one. I must have drank 5 of them before I started feeling really drunk and sat it out. About 10 minutes later I was rushing to the restroom to throw up but never quite made it  he did get me a taxi home and that was the end of the date.

On Monday at work he saw me and said "You alright? You sane chunder bolt?" I just replied with a "I'm good thank you" that's the last time I spoke to him. I have hidden myself away because I don't like him thinking I'm an insane chunder bolt
Whoops-a-daisy

Were the drinks Guinness and Baileys? Yeugh. Nevermind. All may not be lost. On my first date with my husband I got so drunk I fell backwards off a bench (picnic bench in nice beer garden, I might add, not dubious park bench!) whilst holding two drinks, soaking myself and those in the near vicinity. Now he is my husband. Since you appear to think all 'British guys' are one and the same, the fact that it didn't put my husband off should be a comfort to you.

I can't remember what the drink combination was but it sure did get me drunk fast! How did you get over the shame of embarrassing yourself and get your boyfriend, now husband to see past what you did wrong on your date?

That's easy, I felt no shame in the first place. :p

We went on to have many, many more drunken escapades before settling down and being sensible, and we thoroughly enjoyed every one of them :)

Oh no, sorry to hear your first date was scuppered by the evils of drink! Seriously though that should be the sort of thing you should be able to look back on and laugh at together. Not feel racked with shame and guilt over. Oh Oduliet there is nothing for it, you will just have to make a visit to the UK and find another Prince Charming! It can be lovely here through the summer months :) I wish you luck.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Anyone shed any light on what a 'chunder bolt' is - insane or sane? smiley-confused005.gif

OP, did he say it in a nasty or joking way?
    I wouldn't hide yourself away.

I bet he found it all very funny and will ask you out again soon. Try to be more reasonable next time as once is funny twice stating to look a bit suspicious.
