Where to live in North West?

My husband has applied for a job in Liverpool and stands a good chance of getting it. I'm from Warrington originally but don't want to live there. Looking at schools, Helsby and Culcheth are excellent secondaries. My boys aren't even primary school age but if we move North, it is to buy the forever home so don't intend to move again (i obviously realise schools change). So, Culcheth or Helsby or any other suggestions?!

Chester. Great city and in a good position to get to all other areas easily.
If you live in Hoole your hubby can just jump on the train as he can walk to it reducing your car maintenance costs
You have a good range of primary and secondary schools in Chester too.0 -
Culceth seems nice.
I did a mortgage for a couple there a while back. I had never heard of it before but when i got there the streets had no scrotes hanging around on street corners. Houses seemed well looked after, the couple I met were lovely and in good decent jobs.
I dont really know that way too well but thats the impression i got from the 2-3 times i went there.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Hi there i am from the Wirral which has some lovely places to live and excellent links to Liverpool, Chester and Manchester.0

Culcheth is very nice. So are Parbold, Standish, Heskin, Mawdesley and there are some nice parts of Southport. All quite handy for Liverpool.0

Frodsham for helsby school and easy access to motorway. Lymm is still rated good, although it's extortionately expensive property wise. Culcheth and Croft are pretty expensive for what they are and the facilities they have0

That's true. At least Helsby has a train station...0 -

I've heard parts of the Wirral are lovely. When I looked at schools however, the majority of good comprehensive secondaries were independent or girls
Hi a lot of the secondary schools are rated as outstanding by ofsted. Also depends on where you live. Wirral has some gorgeous beaches too and lovely countryside. I wouldn't live anywhere else. :-)0
