Captainhindsight ... do you have any opinion of the Ideal Logic Code boiler with the inbuilt gas flue recovery unit versus going for a separate boiler and recovery unit?
The quote has come back in for the Logic Code and it is very good but only has a 2 year guarantee which concerns me.
Any opinions gratefully received!0 -
Hi, without sounding stupid, could you please run through the whole process regarding the solid wall insulation.
I have just got in touch with assessor who is sending me a questionnaire and if completed in time, an assessor will be sent out next week to view property. What shall I be careful for?
Also, when I receive report, what are the next steps I need to do and when do I pay for work? Do I pay up front and claim money back or await funding first?
I would be grateful for any info. I'd like to hear from anyone who has had this done and was it beneficial?
For the record I live in an 3 bed end terrace built around 1900
Thanks very much0 -
I just got my GDAR report today it recommends solid wall insulation annual savings of £231. My EPC is band D (63) with potential of 84.
I already picked a green deal provider got my from link above

I did have trouble finding someone local to do the GDAR0 -

Can I ask how much your GDAR was?0 -

I've found that British Gas are offering it for £129. :money:
It is worth mentioning that it's not best value to get the cheapest you can.
A lot of people have paid 100 or less and had to have another one done because if it's not done properly it won't show all of the recommendations available to you and many people end up spending twice.
150 is good value for what you are getting from it.
As a gd company people have come to us with a gdar they are proud of paying very little for just to be told it doesn't cover all the recommendations available to them."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -
I had EPC done and then Solid Wall insulation a while back, all work completed and cashbacks all paid.
Today got an email from From claims@energy-saving-home-improvement-fund.service.gov.uk Requesting GDAR Reference Number as they paid me £99 cashback, looked everywhere and can't find one, Am I missing something?0 -

Sounds like you didn't have a GDAR and claimed £100 for something you havnt had done.
To claim for the GDHIF you need an EPC or a gdar, if you had a GDAR you get £100 Cashback for the EPC you get nothing."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -

Thanks for reply, but in my paperwork from insulation quotes it mentions GDAR, so can u have a GDAR after a EPC as EPC shows energy ratings b4, so would a GDAR so updates? Are they responsible to do this, as they told me i would get £100 cash back for doing report via them or have they pulled a fast one on me?
Appreciate any help on this0
