Additionally, for those owners who've recently bought, is that EPC Certificate valid for these works?

It needs to be no older than 24 months, but if there is something you want that is not on the EPC. If you speak to an assessor or installer company they will be able to ask you some questions and be able to let you know if what your after will show up on a gdar.

For example, flue gas heat recovery wont show up on a epc (or vary rarely) but will show up on pretty much every gdar.

Nope, no flue heat recovery on the EPC. But! It does state I should invest in a Wind Turbine for up to £4k for a £19 a year saving! Woo!

Wait for eco to pick up again of you are interested in cavity wall insulation as you will get this for free.

I came to the same conclusion during the afternoon and looked online. I'm surprised you say "pick up again" as the freebee still seems to be running? I still need to research all this too, not sure what the catch is or if it's worthwhile!

The gdar will show more recommendations than the epc, so even though the epc doesn't show a recommendation for gas flue heat recovery a gdar should/will if the epc recommends a boiler.

We are fitting loads of these from next week, (as long as all the vouchers applied for on Monday come through). Many of the epcs did not recommended this but the all of the gdars did

The company's still offering the freebies are doing so on agreements made last year that they still havnt delivered the amount they have agreed to deliver. No new funding is being released for this at the moment but should be shortly which will open it up again to smaller local companies.

Does flue heat recovery work on oil boilers? I understand so, but given they are non-modulating does the preheating of DHW input have much effect?

I am having real problems finding anyone who is willing to come to our town to do the survey. I been to local council office who also have a advice shop for green deal and there said same thing. Its not that I live in a small town but one that is 40 miles from nearest city as we have sea facing us.

All I want is solid wall insulation under green deal looking to pay for rest after the 6k credit

Yes it's does work, but not eligible for GDHIF. All they do is run the cold inlet round a coil round the flue to preheat it slightly before going into the boiler or hot water tank. If your off the gas grid it's going to be difficult to take advantage of this scheme apart from the solid wall insulation.

Hi have you tried the green deal participants register and entering your postcode this will show companies who operate in your area.

But you will probably have more luck by going to the EPC register, and searching for energy assessors by entering your postcode this will show a list of energy assessors near you.

Not all of these will be able to do green deal assessments but hopefully you will be able to find one who can by going down the list and calling them.

Has there been any further detail published about what is allowable with these measures?

Secondary glazing - can it be added to existing double glazing and the fund claimed?

It has to be recommended on an epc or a Green Deal advice report. That is the only qualifying criteria.

This is why it is important to get a good assessor, as any mistakes can mean the difference between upto £7600 cash back or zero cash back .

What you mentioned would not be recommended on either report.

So, started looking for an assessor to get my GDAR. Put in the Postcode and there are 69 companies listed.

Where to start ay?! I wouldn't know any of them!
