I'm a bit nervous about calling, never had a good expierince in the past with these people, what kind of a letter could I write just to ask I.e what is going on as contact has been lost once again and could I come to a compromise agreement ?

Just phone and get it over with (have written notes in front of you of what you want to talk about), a letter is to easy to discard or get lost etc.

You can always write the letter later

    What and just ask ?
Who the hr or still there ? Or who is in charge ? And what if they ask why I am contacting them I.e they might seem it be stupid me contacting them if not returning,is it just me thinking this.
Basically I don't want this flaring up when the firm:employer feels like it as they have done in the past,I want to draw a line under it obviously with not loosing out on money etc,I didn't work all them years for nothing.

You didn't work all those years for nothing, you worked all those years for the remuneration agreed at the start of employment.

There is no easy way to approach this but you need to know what you want to ask, they will either say yes, no or negotiate.

what else are you going to do? You could always hire a solicitor, you could ask the union if a member, you could check with your house insurance if there is legal cover.

Or as before, you take the passive route and we are answering the same questions in 6 months times

You seem to think your employer owes you something. You have been off sick for two and a half years, is keeping your employment open not more than enough?

Fair enough, surely with all the relative paper work they would have know after one year I was not a fit candidate for there place of work, come on the previous hr wrote to my gp twice in less that three months apart, got the same answer off him because they thought I was a liar, then previous hr to last current one ignored me,for Nine months,I still sent letters, sick notes etc,now well looks like a repeat performance again.
I may look like the bad one in these posts.

Give me the NO. and I will call them for you.

This is getting silly you have more than enough things to talk about on the phone to find out what is going on. either phone them and start asking questions any questions will do from the vast list you have been given so far or just leave it for another few years.
