I actually think you should apply for job.
No travelling & local.
A guaranteed income every month.

I know Lou. My health problems are just putting me off. Sometimes I get a really bad stomach and that would be no good when I'm at work. I also have really bad coughing fits and I wouldn't want that to happen in a busy shop. Just things like that put me off.
The shop is in a shopping centre which is just down the road from me, so there will be plenty of Christmas jobs to choose from, even if it's not in that shop.

On the cons side, it will be manic towards Christmas (being toys etc) but that's obviously why they need extra staff.
I can sympathise with your reference problem, I'm in somewhat the same boat myself:o
I worked in a toy shop for two years whilst at college - believe me it wasn't always fun!! When we didn't have the latest craze in stock (think Teletubbies and Furbies!!), the names I got called by parents were just plain obscene!!

That's terrible about the abuse from buyers, Emz:eek:. It's always the beleaguered frontline staff who get the blame when it isn't their fault.
I can appreciate all your points re taking/not taking a job, it must be a real problem for you. Only you know how you feel health-wise so any 'advice' any of us can offer, however well-meaning, is purely because often it is easier for an outsider to see things that those closely involved may not think of. But, knowing you, I'm sure you have thought it out very carefully.
Good luck whatever you decide to do:beer:
By the way, just a thought about AQA or whatever it's called now. Are you committed to doing a certain amount of hours/questions in a set period? You wouldn't want anything to jeopardise your standing with them and an outside job plus all the time you'll still be spending helping your family will tire you out too much to do many questions in your 'free' time.0 -
Thanks CBC

100 questions all done. Just as well as we're off to the gym tonight
. I might do some more when I get home tonight, just to get a head start on tomorrow.
My parcel came and it was....................a free razor for my OH - told you it wouldn't be exciting.

Very true Dawn

I spent about 30 minutes in the gym. TBH, it was way too hot to do much, even with the air con.
I'm thinking of buying this to wear at the gym. It's always good to raise awareness for the illness.
I've also earned another £5 on the questions towards tomorrow's 100.

Very chuffed with myself. I sold an item on eBay the other day (for £25) and am getting it posted for free using a code
. Just need to drop it off on the way to my mum's.

Forgot to add, I found a receipt in Tesco worth £183!! I've submitted it to Receet and am waiting for it to get approved. I'm thinking I might save up my points and claim £10 cash eventually. Won't take too long if I can find a few receipts like that!!
