Morning - hospital day today
- will let you all know how it goes. At least I've got a 9.30am appointment. I'm hoping for a good visit as I've been feeling really well lately and I think I've put on a bit more weight.
We went to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes on Sunday night. I had a 40% off voucher and my CEA card, so for two 3D adult premier seats, it cost just under £8 - can't complain at that. Didn't think the film was that good though, much preferred the first one.
I've just bagged some free tickets to see What If a week Thursday too.

Hi Emz
Just dropping in to say hi, hope you're doing well!
How're you taking the 6336 news? Proper cruddy isn't it? Are you still going to work for them? I've "officially" accepted the new terms so my account won't get closed, but whether I actually continue working for them, is yet to be seen. Saying that, I've logged in several times a day since the 1st, and there's never been a single question. It's not looking good, is it? Crazy though, since it's only a month or so since they frequently had queues of 400+ questions.
Hugs to you- hope your hospital appointment has gone well x0 -
Thanks everyone.
Well, thought it was going to be a straight-forward appointment, but I was still there for a good 3 hours.
I am borderline diabetic and anaemic. I'm seeing a diabetes consultant in November to discuss that aspect. They want to measure my blood glucose constantly over a 3 day period, which they do by putting a small needle in my back and leaving it there for that time. Not crazy about the idea, but if I have to do it then so be it.
They also took some blood from me for the diabetes consultant and to monitor the anaemia too. They also took some to find out my blood type, which they need to know for when I'm being considered for a lung transplant in the future.
My vitamin D levels are low, so I've got to start taking another daily tablet for them and they have also put me on ANOTHER tablet to absorb the acid in my stomach (helps me digest my food better apparently). If I'm still going strong when I'm 40, I can imagine being on 50 different types of medication and having a repeat prescription that's 20 pages long!!
My weight is 54kg (up 0.2kg) and my lung function is 36% (down 1%, but they weren't worried about that).
I'm not going back until November :j. Very tired now though. It's amazing how much it takes it out of you.

Hi
I can't quite believe 63336 TBH. I'm still with them, but haven't done any work with them since then. I might try and do a bit, but it has been dead on there since they announced the changes. I'm hoping they will put me into the other question pools soon (I requested it) which would hopefully mean loads more work.
It is good that you don't get timed out on the questions anymore though, which means I could get on with other stuff whilst waiting for one to come through.

Sweetie I know how taking the meds can be really lowering sometimes but if that's what'll help you stay in good shape, just pop the pills even if it is 50 a day.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 11st 12lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I know, I wasn't really moaning about it - I've been popping pills since I was 8 years old after all!! Just takes time to get used to another thing to take.

Hi Emz, I'm glad hospital wasn't too bad but taking longer only for them to find something else wrong must be very stressful. You'll take it all in your stride though, as you always do:A
I was very interested to see you mention a possible lung transplant in the future. My cousin has CF and had a heart and lung transplant at Papworth hospital many years ago when she was 23.Her condition had deteriorated so much she needed a wheelchair because her energy was zilch and she was gasping for breath after the slightest effort. her weight was about 6 stone and unless a donor was found for her transplant they didn't expect her to survive more than a few more months. Her heart was fine (and was used to transplant 'live' into another recipient so she was well chuffed) but she needed the lungs and in those days they used to do the combined transplant (probably still do for all I know). The result was nothing short of miraculous, she went on to marry and give birth naturally to a baby. They had lots of genetic counselling and tests etc prior to making the decision to have a child and everything was fine. Her daughter doesn't have it:j. Obviously she still has CF ( new lungs don't cure it) but she had many years of good health before the condition became debilitating again.0
