    Thanks everyone :)

Glad you had a good time at Cromlix Lou - I'll have to go there myself some day.

Pleased to be home, I really hate travelling. Had a quiet night last night as OH went to his mate's house. I watched Australia - Hugh Jackman looks divine in that movie :grinheart

We got the new bed, but it was a bit firm, so we've got a mattress topper for it too. It's lovely and big and I no longer feel like I'm sleeping on a slope when my OH is there too.

I lost track of my challenges progress, so have scrapped them from my signature. I'm now concentrating on one debt at a time and they will stay in my signature until they're cleared. My first one is my council tax arrears and I made a payment of £190.95 on Friday, so off to a good start.

I received some Simply Red DVDs and CDs through the post the other day (must be a prize) and I can get around £18 from them from one of those websites (like Music Magpie), so will be sending them off on Monday and putting that towards the arrears.

Also still waiting for my £50 from TCB (£40 confirmed).

    Emz xx
  • Sounds like good news on lots of different fronts,Emz:j

Really pleased your uncle is recovering, it must have been a scary time for you especially as you were so close. Great news too about the bed. Here's to many good nights' sleep in it:beer:

You didn't tell us much about your visit to OH's parents (probably best forgotten if previous encounters are anything to go by;)). I hope you didn't have to cough up for meals.

    Have a good week.

Hi CBC :) - hope you are well.

We weren't at OH's parents for that long - not really much point in going there TBH.

They paid for the meal, but then it was only £31 for the 4 of us (the last meal OH and I bought cost double that and that was with a 25% discount!!).

    Evening :)

Recently gotten into using that new app Receet. Already claimed one Amazon voucher from there and am not far off claiming another one. Not sure how much it is (probably only £1), but it's better than nothing. Apparently it's being sent through the post.

Went for lunch with a friend today, but it was her turn to pay.

Still nothing from TCB, getting really annoyed now. The transactions date back to March

  • Have just got back after taking my car for its MOT. I've been remarkably lucky as I've spent practically zilch on servicing etc over the years and have just replaced things when they wore out or stopped working (battery, starter motor, tyres etc). It has sailed through all its past MOTs but this time it didn't and failed on a 'blowing' exhaust:mad::mad::mad::mad: Have booked it in tomorrow to have a new one fitted and the 'free' retest and issue of the MOT certificate.

So that's £35 for the original MOT plus about £65 for supply and fitting of the rear exhaust. Might not seem much to some people but it is dire for someone in my situation. I'd earmarked some of the £50 payout I'm expecting from YouGov later this month for having my hair restyled (the current Worzel Gummage look isn't one I can tolerate for much longer:o:o) but that will have to wait as I need the money to get the car sorted. It's been a very expensive month car-wise, what with Insurance renewal and Car Tax at the end of June and now this. Living in a rural backwater a car is a lifeline so I just need to bite the bullet and pay up:(:(

Sorry about the moan, just feeling fed-up and desperate.

Sorry about that CBC :( - I always find when I think I'm sorted that an unexpected expense pops up from somewhere.

    Chin up :o
