It doesn't really make sense. If dad didn't want to go and they didn't ask because they knew that then I don't see a problem.
If you have said your busy and they didn't ask you then again I can't see the problem .
They have now asked you, they know you were upset and want to make it up to you, and you didn't want to go.
So is the situation ok now? Maybe this weekend you invite them? I don't think not going just because they are inviting you to apologise is the way forward.
Otherwise whenever people try to make it up to someone it would never get sorted.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
