We don't get charged more when there is a drought.
And we don't get charged less when reservoir overflow gates are opened to control the excess.Except Government diktat

If you are going to write something derogitory, don't fanny around with writing it in white text, just say it.
So basically, everything is effected by supply and demand, unless it's regulated. Considering pretty much every industry is regulated, there's not much left, is there?
You stated prices are effected by supply and demand in relation to the care industry, You then go on to suggest this doesn't count due to government diktat.
So what was your point? Other than being deliberately difficult, of course.0 -
Has it changed massively over the last 5 or 6 years?
No. If anything migration for the unskilled, non-fluent English speaker has become easier to Australia over the past 3 Governments.
Do you actually know anything about Australian migration laws or do you just read about them in English newspapers?

Water prices are set by Government diktat. Using water prices as an example of how supply and demand doesn't set prices, unless Governments directly intervene in the market to set a price, is thus muddle headed at best or, more likely, you not having a clue. Again.0 -

Friend of mine emigrated to Oz five or six years ago. He had to go to a number of interviews. He had to have a job lined up (that the company had to demonstrate an Australian wasn't available to do) his wife had to have an approved trade (hairdresser), they and their two children had to have full medicals, they could not bring their parents with them as too old etc etc. The whole thing took around a year.
Has all that changed?0 -

Care is steeped in government "diktat". So what's the difference?
See the 118 page document from the Department of Health surrounding residential fee's....

Not if you're entering on a 457 visa which I suspect your friend was.
There are many visas including student visas (no English test) and the Seasonal Workers Program (get free training paid for by Aussie taxpayers thrown in to the deal).
I entered on a 100 visa. No English test and the entire process took less than 3 months. I got permanent residency as a result.
Don't believe the hype.0 -

Are you getting muddled again? That document, as fascinating as I'm sure it is, has no reference to immigration or migration at all. It's irrelevant how the fee's are set.0 -

Was my mate just a fool or naive for going through all the process he did?0 -

LOL.
The point was that supply and demand does not set the price in the care industry either, as it has "diktat" involvement.
Throwing in the muddle line doesn't do anything. The fact that you are throwing it in as soon as you are challenged on your asertions speaks volumes.0
