Well, without being a showoff McGitPants, it has gone from having nothing in it in March to being our 3rd biggest asset (after home equity and my pension, ahead of 3-4 years of Mrs E pension!) So it was our financial win for 2014. Worth 7.xx% of our outstanding mortgage, not bad for less than 9 months :T

Went into work this morning, big mistake

Trudged through the freezing fog to stand at the bus stop for 20 minutes only to realise that I'd forgotten my pass. Went home, waited another half hour for a bus and got into work to a half empty office and even worse freezing fog

Brought my laptop home, working from the couch tomorrow :rotfl:

I'd say I'm envious of your success at MB and whatnot, but I'm not putting the work in yet, and you are - its admiration, really, good for you! And fancy that S&S stacking up so well already! I'm sure the two are linked :)

Glad to hear you'll be working from home tomorrow.

    Hi, Ed.

Glad you had a good Christmas.

Good idea to work from home tomorrow. I spent many a year feeling as if I was almost alone in the office between Christmas and New Year!

Well done on the MB. I hope to dip my toe in the MB pond next year - you are my role model for what can be achieved!:T

  • Just catching up Ed, and you're looking good finance wise! I too trudged into work today, why I don't know, but no choice and as its a workshop, I can't take it home! Ah well, short week I suppose....

There was obviously something not good about going into work for a few of us today. I too had a wasted 20 minutes, due to defrosting my car for 10 mins to discover the brakes were frozen solid to the wheels and they would not release. Luckily enough I was able to take OH's car, so spent a further 10 mins defrosting his car.

I will do it all again tomorrow but I do hope you have a comfy day at work on your couch :)

Stop reading now if you don't want to humour a rant!

    =====

Why the hell do those of us who give a crap bother our bahookies insulating our homes; turning down the heating; replacing every lighbulb in the house with ones that look worse; reducing; re-using and recycling just about everything we can? It seems that nobody else gives a hoot!

I took down a small bag of rubbish to our bin store. It is rammed solid (could barely open the door) with black bin bags, most of which had artfully placed recyclable items poking out of the top of them. In context, we're a block of 8, meaning that in less than a week we have somehow managed to fill 5-6 wheelie bins + another 15-20 bin bags. The recycling bins, on the other hand, are half empty.

I don't get it, these people have children :(

Tis very frustrating with some people Ed ... i feel your pain, atleast with what you are doing you are making sure you are doing your bit, sometimes it really has to be about you and not about the society around you

sadly mindsets take time to change.

growing up, we didn't recycle at all. To me it seemed to be something that only posh people and eco warriers did. Fast forward a decade and legislation changes mean that recycling and other eco friendly approaches are slowly becoming more natural.

It is frustrating - it was bin day here yesterday and we had one bag of rubbish in our wheelie bin. The nearest neighbors to us on both sides had overflowing bins, rubbish bags at the side. It is sad to see :(
