I've finally found the 4% page at MrMoneyMustache, I'm ashamed to tell you how long I wasted looking for it :o

It's not risk free (as I can demonstrate), like any activity that makes use of leverage to create wealth. For someone who can follow instructions, do a bit of research and save up some cash for a float, it offers real rewards. I've made more this year than I have from all my cashback, survey money and reviewing combined (8 years or so of effort).

I'm quite meticulous, so I think I could follow instructions and do research ok, and I could probably rustle up a float somewhere :)

But at this stage in the game I'm very risk adverse, so it's probably not the right time to be dipping my toe in this particular pond.

But it does interest me. Maybe in a couple of years time, when Mr Goldie's other pensions kick in, I'll probably feel a bit flush then, and also would have got used to my new life and would be looking for something new to try.

I rather think I'd give it a whirl then :)

And lets face it, anything better than surveys !:rotfl:

Erm ... there's a bike of mine in the brick shed. But its at the back of the shed, and there's ***huge*** spiders defending it :o Part of me is tempted to ignore it and buy a folding bike so I can keep it in the porch, and I might do that when I'm living in a camper, and keep it in the passenger seat or something :D but realistically, I have a really nice builder who knows how spider-averse I am, and they've told me its only about two grand to get done what I want on the shed. And then I'd be able to reclaim the bike.

You didn't want to know all that, did you :p

the folding bike sounds cheaper than 2 grand though :) And would be spider web free!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

I'd use the folding bike in the future, even if I was living in a camper van for a while ... and meantime, it would still be spider free. The shed does need doing - asbestos removing, gutting, re-mortaring, polycarbonate roof, uPVC door - thing is, I don't actually need a bike right now. Or maybe I do :D

Sorry for the hijack, Ed. :o

Dear collective wisdom of the internet:

What do you call that sticky/gauzy white tape that can be used to hold up hems/raggedy bits on your spare room curtains without the need for sewing?

Thanking you in advance, Mr Ed.

Wundaweb is a really good variety of the hemming tape.

Also available at J0hn Lewi$ in several varieties, if you've got a Waitr0$e near you, it's overnight shipping.
