I felt like some grown up ones. This will sound very first world, but neither Mrs E or I realised that you *got* nice light fittings until we looked at JL :o

They're lurvely! Who knew that we could covet lightbulbs? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Light fittings are another world, aren't they :D some are really gorgeous - I confess, though, a fair few of mine came from Wilko, the bog standard range :D but I don't *love* this house, its not the house of my heart. I have a couple of handmade fittings that are coming with me to the next place, even though one of them is a wee bit studenty :p

You know, because I'm not doing much, even at the income I have, I'm not spending to my income. I do actually have income, as opposed to savings, that I could use for the P2P business. I'll deffo look at it once I've done my tax return, not touching it till then :)

Thanks for the reminder, Ed :)

Now this is the light that made me smile when I unboxed it!
I think I will take a picture of one of the lights in our new house - probably the one-that-is-where-the-hall-used-to-be :D.

In the meantime - would I have to get a white cat if I had this or this :)

Oooooh - I have light envy! This would look quite cool in our dining room - not sure I can justify the £££ though!!

Parenting - the hardest job in the world. Requires you to be on call 24/7 with stupid working hours (particularly if b/f on demand) no pay (in fact it costs you a lot of money instead) and you don't ever get to retire from it. BUT... it's also the most rewarding, the most special job ever - and not everyone is lucky enough to have the chance.

Everything will pass - you'll look back and not remember the sheer gruelling exhaustion, but you develop rose tinted glasses and remember the cute bits (not all the time, but most of the time!) Sometimes as parents we try too hard - I'm not an advocate of leaving babies to cry (other than a grizzle for max 5 mins) They don't come with instruction manuals and what works for one model doesn't work for another. Sometimes it's enough to just 'be' - sit and cuddle, doze together on the sofa, leave the housework/ jobs, have a takeaway - don't put unnecessary pressures on yourselves x

(I get the house renovations thing with a small one, honest - we moved here with 2 children already when I was 7 months pregnant and still working and the previous owners left it in a disgusting mess. A year later we had building works for 3 1/2 months and I was without a kitchen sink for 3 months, an oven for over two (it was fitted on Xmas Eve!) We then had our loft converted whilst I was heavily pregnant with no 4 - I remember getting stuck getting into the old loft as they were insistent on showing me stuff going on. And waxing all the woodwork in the loft when it was finished with a week old newborn whilst he napped - and running myself ragged - not my best move!)

    xx
