Unless this is a wind up (has to be, surely?), read what you wrote again, and maybe consider having some refresher lessons.
If you panic finding the brake pedal (hint, its the same place you left it last time), then you probably shouldn't be driving.0 -

"THE overtaking lane?" Were you only on a 2-lane motorway then?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
OP, simple answer, stop using cruise control, especially in traffic conditions where you are frequently having to adjust your speed. If you are using it to stay within speed limits then using the speed limiter function is better as you have more control. If someone has overtaken you and cuts in 2 car lengths ahead you shouldn't need to 'Panic to find the brakes' you shouldn't need to brake at all, just disengage the cruise control and ease off, any competent driver can do this with out thinking, braking should be the last resort, braking unnecessarily causes a knock on effect that can go on for miles in heavy traffic.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

Probably inexperienced drivers. Decent ones will have left you 18 inches gap or less.
I totally agree, most drivers who are "considered" by others to be dangerous are usually totally focused on what they are doing and much better drivers than the sheep who dawdle along looking at the countryside, talking, texting, looking at and playing with their hair in the mirror etc. etc.0 -
So stop using cruise control!. How long have you been driving?.I use cruise control and it annoys the hell out of me when drivers cut in line that. It's a panic to find the brake pedal to slow down as I ususally have the foot off the brakes when I'm driving in cruise control.0 -

You are a hazard to other road users. Stay at home.0 -
I can understand why drivers cut up middle lane hoggers, to teach them to drive in the correct lane, but it is a dangerous practice.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
