Wow he's come a long way in a couple of days. At least you know he likes you, he wouldn't sit so close and look at you like that unless he liked you.

It might be a good idea to push something against the corners of the sofa too as they like scratching that. Although he might not as he has a scratching post. yeah definitely a throw for the sofa to try and save it from destruction. But be prepared that some things might get a bit scratched or chewed, one of the "joys" of cat slavery (and also be prepared to find cat hairs in places you're sure he's never been)

My Giz loves to lay beside me, right next to my thigh. he lays so that his head is flush against the side near my knee and i can stroke away.

My cat right now has been sleeping by my side on the sofa for 3 hours or so. Snoring away. I wish i could get a picture and i am dying for a sausage roll and a drink but if i get up that's it

He looks so happy in those pics. You get addicted trust me , i am taking photos every 5 seconds of Salem even when he looks the same as he does in another picture.

Just keep re assuring him, he is safe and going to be looked after and you will be fine. I got some throws from Dunelm Mill which are thin, but lovely and soft, which Tibs here, loves lying on. They feel warm to the touch and very soft, she loves them.


Next attempt is getting him to sleep on the bed with you ! lol. He will take up 1/2 the bed and be determined to sleep between your legs. I have mastered the art now and she gets picked up, I move my legs and then she is put down again, between them. Around 6ish each morning, I wake up and she is lying on her back, belly up, and I cannot resist stroking her, the bed vibrates with the purring ! lol Her belly her is so soft, it feels like silk and is so warm.


I love it when she comes from outside and she smells like freshly laundered clothes, been air dried on the line.

Martin you do know that you have passed the point of no return.
That is now HIS settee, but you will be allowed to use it occasionally.
He is gorgeous, please post more pics so we can all oooh and aaaah

He's absolutely gorgeous and seems to be settling in well. I currently have Salem asleep on the sofa next to me with his head on my knee, I daren't move for fear of waking him and getting "the look". Salem is the only one out of our three that spends a lot of time on the sofa, he always waits for hubby to get up and them steals his spot much to hubby's disapproval. I'm sure he knows it annoys him
