OMG I think I've been dramatically under feeding him?! I've been giving him half a pouch of felix in the morning and half at night, with dried food always available, but I've literally just noticed on the felix box it says 3-4 pouches per day?!?

my Giz would eat 2 or 3 pouches a day so i changed to Butchers Classic and now it's 1/2 to 3/4 of a tin a day. 6 tins is £2.70.

The boxes always say 4 but most cats seem to average less than that. Ours has 2 a day and some biscuits...and he's fat!

Oh dear, OK well I will start with 2 pouches per day then and see how we get on!

Thing have taken a not so great turn in that, at some point today, Derek decided his safe place was no longer going to be the TV stand in the lounge, but behind a large painting propped up against the wall in the kitchen.

Going to be a lot harder for him to get used to us from the kitchen!

Plan is to lure him out with some more tuna in the lounge; then either hope he remembers the TV stand; or hope that he wanders far enough away from the kitchen door for me to either sneak in there and remove the painting, or just close the door...

if you do the sitting on the floor thing tonight, try tempting him to play by dragging a shoelace or bit of cord across the floor where he can see it.

Yes get him into hunting mode - their eyes go big & wide & the paws claws get very fast. Lots of fun to be had.

That's fine if he has dry food as well. My older cat has up to 4 pouches per day, but that's all she eats. My younger one has dry food and no pouches at all, as wet food upsets his stomach.

I think a second hiding place is a good sign, he's expanding his territory.
