OMG I think I've been dramatically under feeding him?! I've been giving him half a pouch of felix in the morning and half at night, with dried food always available, but I've literally just noticed on the felix box it says 3-4 pouches per day?!?0

my Giz would eat 2 or 3 pouches a day so i changed to Butchers Classic and now it's 1/2 to 3/4 of a tin a day. 6 tins is £2.70.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500

The boxes always say 4 but most cats seem to average less than that. Ours has 2 a day and some biscuits...and he's fat!0

My big boy has 2 x gourmet tins on average a day with dry food & water always there.0

Oh dear, OK well I will start with 2 pouches per day then and see how we get on!
Thing have taken a not so great turn in that, at some point today, Derek decided his safe place was no longer going to be the TV stand in the lounge, but behind a large painting propped up against the wall in the kitchen.
Going to be a lot harder for him to get used to us from the kitchen!
Plan is to lure him out with some more tuna in the lounge; then either hope he remembers the TV stand; or hope that he wanders far enough away from the kitchen door for me to either sneak in there and remove the painting, or just close the door...0 -
if you do the sitting on the floor thing tonight, try tempting him to play by dragging a shoelace or bit of cord across the floor where he can see it.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500

I will certainly give that a try Scaredy!0 -
Yes get him into hunting mode - their eyes go big & wide & the paws claws get very fast. Lots of fun to be had.0

That's fine if he has dry food as well. My older cat has up to 4 pouches per day, but that's all she eats. My younger one has dry food and no pouches at all, as wet food upsets his stomach.0 -
I think a second hiding place is a good sign, he's expanding his territory.0
