Congratulations ! now the hard work starts looking after the new Master of the house !:rotfl:

If he is anything like our little terror, he will disappear somewhere for a while, just leave him to do what he wants.

Also Lock the cat flap and if he is anything like Madame Tibsey, tape it over and put something in front of it. She knows how to take gaffer tape off the flap. She also pushes so hard that the microchip flap gives in and opens for her, either inside or out ! And she is 1/2 the size of Derek ! I am almost sure she turns green like the Hulk, when she cannot get what she wants. :rotfl:

That's great news that you're getting him tomorrow.

We adopted our cat (Lucy) two weeks ago and she's settling in well. We haven't let her out yet, but she's definitely keen to get out and explore. When we first got her we brought her a scratching post, lots of toys (she's played with them all but her favourite is a catnip mouse) and a bed. I wasn't sure whether she's use her bed but she uses it every night (it's in our bedroom).

I hope Derek settles in well...good luck!

    Well he's home...!

Poor little thing is very scared and timid, unfortunately his chosen hiding place is behind the TV with all the wires :-/ but I don't want to be shooing him out and adding to his stress...

We're just sitting here in the room on the sofas very quietly, letting him rest behind there for as long as he needs to.

mine even now hide behind the TV, they have thankfully stopped doing their business behind there but I am just waiting for the time one of them decides to bite a cable...

    Bless him

Out cat Salem does the same , we have a TV stand that has a cupboard thing at the bottom we can open thankfully to get him out.
We had to get a new sensor bar for the Wii because within the first few weeks he chewed through the wire. He also chewed through my fiance's earphones and also my new ones just yesterday in fact.

This doesn't include the vase and various ornaments he has knocked off and broke.
And he ripped some nice new curtains recently

Cats though , they do all those naughty things yet they give you that guilty look as if to say 'who, me' and you can't be mad. :p

a feliway plug in might help him to settle in, make him more relaxed.
Cats don't have owners - they have staff!! :D:p
